Using a DMM to measure charging amperage

Ok, i think i have learned from you all how to measure tailcap amperage and voltage. could you pls explain how, if possible, i can use my DMM to measure the charging amperage on my intellicharger i4? and while we are at it, how about how to measure amperage and voltage on these parallel lights like the srk?

thanks,

ken

I suggest you read through this:

http://www.lygte-info.dk/info/Measurement%20UK.html

and then come back if you have any more questions. HKJs website is stuffed with great information.

No need to measure charging current, it charges at 750 mah if charging 2 batteries or 750 mah for half the time if charging 4 batteries.

You can measure it with two conductive foils between you put a nonconductivefoil.
Bam now you can put your amp meter on the conductive foils so that the dmm is in series with battery. Voila
Or you could simply put your battery half in and then make contact with the other pole through your dmm.

very informative, thanks.

The resistance added by a meter in your charging circuit may adversely affect charging.

any suggestions on measuring voltage and amperage on lights like the sky ray king?
