UV Led-Engin recently started to turn-off

I purchased a 365nm UV ‘Led Engin’ P60 Drop-in, in a Solarforce L2 Host from an ‘Online-Dealer’.

It runs on #2 16340 Batteries, and needs ~4V minimum, it works great on 8.4V after a ‘Fresh Charge’.

I got it about 3-4 years ago, and it always stayed on for 5/minutes or more.

Now, it cuts-off anywhere from 60-90/seconds, and turns back-on if I click the switch (reverse-clicky, single mode-ON/OFF), then cuts-off after 60-90/seconds again….

I put in a ‘New’ Tailcap/Switch, and the batteries still measured over 4V apiece with a DMM….and it still cuts-off.

I cleaned both the tailcap spring and the spring from the driver with ‘deoxIT gold’--still cuts-off.

I removed the tailcap, and used a scissor from the negative side of the battery to the Solarforce Host and it still cuts-out at 60-90/seconds.

Any idea’s?

If the culprit appears to be the driver, anyone know of a good replacement and where to get one?

Thanks!

How old are the batteries? Have you checked the voltage of each battery when it turns off?
