I found this led in a drop-in and it appears to be rated for 1 watt of power.
Is this led any good, or it’s too weak to be useful?
According to a table I found here it is 12-15mW. Not super low but the LG and Nichia are are now up around 75mW (but expensive). Useful in what application?
Those are used in UV exposure devices to kill/disinfect bacteria, and virus micro-organisms.
My wifes employer issued them battery bank cell phone cases with these types of UV LEDs in them to kill virus.
One of the guys I backpack / camp with uses a battery powered UV water purification “wand” to treat the water we harvest from creeks and rivers. Safe for consumption kind of thing. I have used it several times too, after I mechanically filter through a sawyer. Tastes much (MUCH) better than tablet / chemical treatments.
Basically the same UV rays that nuke our eyes, skin, and give us cancer are being used to kill a bunch of little crap we can’t see.
