Vapcell s4 plus charger

Hi has anyone who uses a vapcell s4plus charger noticed how fast the batteries take to get to 99 percent. But then take a LONG time to go from 99 percent to 100 percent. Is this normal. It’s annoying to say the least.

The current is reduced as the charge approaches 100%. Normal and annoying - just take it out if you’re in a hurry.

What cells are you charging?

When a cell is 99%+, change the mode to Manual, and adjust the Current to 500 mA.

If it’s a 10440 or 14500, try 250 mA.

@Jimo: If a charger behaves that way towards the end, that means that it doing its job the correct way.

All properly-designed chargers goes through what engineers call CC/CV (constant current/constant voltage) algorithm. If you notice at first, in the CC stage, you will see the charger puts out the charging ampere rate you selected or if in Auto mode, what the charger thinks the cell in the bay can safely handle, at the same time the Voltage is still counting towards the 4.20v terminal voltage. Once the 4.20v volt is reached, the CC phase stops and the CV stage (which is 4.20v) commences…this is the time the last 99% of the current needed to fully-charge the cell, usually about 5 or tens of minutes to finally to stop at 10% of the charging rate used.

Can you imagine, to make practical sense of the whole remaining but annoying looong minutes, those few tens or hundreds of mAhs put in the cell/s should probably last a few seconds, if not in milliseconds, in a high-current, direct-driven light!

Thanks for the info. It’s a big help
