I have the above mentioned charger and have had zero issues until today. I’ll say i noticed it today as i didn’t pay much attention after last use but channel 2 thinks there is a fully charged cell in it, but there is not one. for the hell of it i stuck a battery in to see if it made a difference and no it does not. the other 3 channels seem to be working as normal. Ant idea what could the issue be? is it fixable? just ignore and not use ch 2? Throw it away? I really do not want to do that but…
The test battery was fully charged, could maybe a properly depleted batt maybe force it to reset or some such? Any thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated. ch 2 does happen to be my normal go to ch so it has seen much more use than the other 3. I like the option for a quicker 3 amp charge but never really use it but have on occasion, more likely i tend to stick with 1, 1.5 and 2
How long have you had it? Any chance for a refund. A lot of the ones I had I got refunded. And others I was stuck with. I’ve had at least seven or eight of them. I have never had an S4 last me more than a year without having one or more of these malfunctions listed below.
Here’s some common things that have gone wrong with every one of them. Inability to charge four times three amps. That happens to everyone that I’ve had. After 4 months 6 Months 8 months whatever. Inability to choose and maintain a specific charge rate. Plug it in unplug it plug it in turn it off that works sometimes other times it just doesn’t. I Always always check the charge rate after it’s programmed in and a lot of times it’s not 1500 like I chose or 2500 like I chose. Etc
There’s really not much out there. I have a Mi boxer c4-12. There’s no doubt in my mind channel one and two are on the same electronic circuit. And three and four another circuit. Because the batteries are always a tenth of a volt or a little more less on channels three and four.
Overall I like the S4 better than the mi boxer. You could see what’s going on with all four slots and it does give a full charge to every battery.
I’ve had this close 2 yrs now so no chance of a return. As i don’t really use it that often maybe that’s why it has lasted. I just tried changing it to discharge the non existing battery and it almost immediately shows discharged with batt @ 2.21v haha. gonna pop the top and see if maybe some debris squirreled it’s way in. may just have to replace and try to make sure i fully rotate use of channels
