If you buy a flashlight from https://www.imalentstore.com/ shipping from EU warehouse to an EU country do you need to pay VAT or is included in price?
I ask Imalent directly and they say depends from country to country. If is EU shouldn’t the VAT policy be the same?
In Bulgaria we have official distributor of Imalent. All prices are with included VAT and warranty of 5 years. If you need additional info PM. I don’t want to share link to not be tolerated as advertising.
Did you try with Banggood?
Got this text from the “shipping and payment” page of the Imalent website. Looks and feels like a smokescreen to hide their lack of knowledge. Not a fan of Banggood, but at least they know what they are talking about.
International Transport Policy
Please note: Many international countries require customers to pay customs fees / duties / taxes to accept packaging.
Please check your country, you can receive the cost of the package, let us talk about the settlement of customs fees.
Bottom line about VAT: you will have to pay it. If the seller settles the VAT, there will be no/less handling cost involved and the whole process wil be faster.
Zero tolerance: that’s the other forum. On this forum we call it: helping a fellow member. And for very shy people: you can always send him a PM.
AFAIK it’s obligatory in whole EU to include all taxes (gross price) when you offer any goods for private consumer. Since all countries act under the same EU law, there is no way you could be charged additionaly.
But when you buy as a company (you ask for the invoice and share your VAT tax number), then the offer may not include VAT. The rule is the VAT is paid by the last party of purchase chain, so companies can buy and sell omitting VAT. By not paying VAT I also mean paying it and getting it back afterwards.
I’m in Romania and I’m not a company.
If I buy on Imalentstore.com delivery from a warehouse in EU delivery in Romania (EU member state) do I need to do customs and pay VAT?
No
