Yes, those batteries I mentioned in the blue wrappers have a low maximum amp rating, but I did not use them in my HID. They were used in highly efficient LED spotlights and only lasted a month or so before I noticed they would not charge anymore. Also, the mAh rated for them, say 6500mAh, was actually about half of that at the time they were received. CPF member, BVH (Bob) also had the same problem with those battery packs too.

I saw that battery about a year ago, but didn’t purchase it because the specifications regarding voltage seemed more like a standard lead acid battery than a LiFePo4. Also, I’m not aware of a balance port on that battery casing, as a high end LiFePo4 should have. It isn’t always necessary to balance these batteries, but it’s sure nice to have the option in order to maintain it at its best.
Also, the weight is a bit high for that battery at about 2.3 pounds. But it could be because they are using the cases designed for lead acid batteries, so that could be the difference in weight, which should have been well below 2 pounds. If you want to give that one a try, please let the forum know how it works out.

My 20AH Lifepo4 battery for my 260W Swan Blaster just died, I am looking for a replacement that could
out put 12V/25Amp (300W) comfortably, I suspect I may need even 30Amp given the ballast efficiency loss 15% & converter efficient loss another 20%. My guess is the power draw is around 330 Watt.
Maybe I can parallel two of these? Do they have max discharge current spec?
If the 14 AH version could sustain out put of 30 Amp, that’ll be ideal but I doubt it thou. Maybe two of them together?

What is the voltage thing that make you think it is a lead acid battery actually? Please educate me, I do not have much knowledge on battery. If these LifePO4 batteries are not balanced charged then what would happen to these batteries? Dangers (fire, explosion)? Or just a shorter lifespan of battery?

Good to see you around the forum. I never inquired about the max discharge specs because my use didn’t require that type of high current load. What I would do is go directly to Shorai’s website, linked below, pick out one of the higher power batteries and contact them for the actual specifications. But connecting 2 in parallel is also a great idea and may work even better. If you find out anything, please let me know as I’m curious just how much stress these batteries can handle.

BTW…the other LiFePO4 battery I considered is the Ballistic line of batteries. I don’t recall why I didn’t purchase it over the Shorai, perhaps just a slight price difference. It may be a good idea to check the max discharge specs on these too.
pretty expensive battery. Have you tried, 3S lipo yet? Just wondering how those would do. Also where could I get a POB HID spotlight? Been sold out on amazon and on this carhidkit website it’s 199.99. Just wondering how much is it at Sam’s Club? Or the cheapest place to buy.
