Video Review: Imalent DDT40 quad XML2 4000 lumen multifunction light 4x 18650 light.

Ok guys and gals. I took over a month off from doing this, didn’t think I’d do one again for a while- but here it is. I know there have been a few reviews out already for this light, but here is my take. There’s even a big beamshot comparison section with 11 lights… some which are single XML lights, but it gives you an idea of how bright this light is compared to them. There’s a modified Sky Ray King, an Acebeam K40M, and a Lumintop PS03, plus a BLF Eagle Eye X6 thrown in for good measure. It’s done in the same high quality style as any other one I’ve done recently. I added a few new camera lenses to the mix, and did a little lighting this time too. I think my technique is improving, but my humor probably isn’t. If you’ve seen any of my reviews before you know what you’re in for. Anyway thanks for watching! And subscribe to my channel if you like the video.

Also here is a longer, less sped up version, of the 4000 lumen runtime test. It’s kinda of boring but I had someone mention to me that they’d be interested in one that didn’t go by as fast as it did in the video review.

Not even watched, and I already know it's awesome!

I don’t have a pinch of an interest for this light, but i’m going to watch the vide right now, love your reviews!

Watched it. I'm liking the review a lot.

I have the SA 04, did a review on it, but man, I can't get around the complicated UI and buttons. This one seems to be the sameway. Great light for playing, less for emergencies ;)

Yet another fine review .

Thanks .

Good enough for me!

Yeah I remember that review. I am doing a review on that one too, and I’ll say that light is a little easier to operate for me. This is not a light you could just hand over to anyone without explaining how it works…

Thanks Jack!

i have the calvin and hobbes 3 tomes collection 2

:D

Man I love that thing. A classic!

Nice review! Love the narration and video editing. Thanks!

Thanks for the effort on another terrific review. What is the advantage of having no mode memory? My brain has no mode memory and I hate it.

So you don’t remember how good it was? That’s all I can think of. I think.

Nice spider review, thanks man!

It took me 15 minutes to get that shot. I had to chase the spider all over the basement. And it still wasn’t what I wanted. He eventually went in a hole. Oh well.

Thanks for the review!
I own this light, and despite i would (like anyone) prefer a little bit more output, more near the claimed output, I don’t feel comfortable with all the bad comments It is receving in the Group Buy thread. I think that thread is just sinking in a spiral of hate, where each one feeds each other. I think it’s also partly because of GearBest ’s mistakes.
Hope this mitigates it a bit. Since overall it is a pretty good all rounder, and i think if you go camping, that’s where it becomes even more useful in a lot of scenarios.

Anyway, just noticed in the video, isn’t your + soft touch button supposed to be lit?

Is it? I wondered that… I can’t remember if it ever was. I think maybe it was when I first received the light. Oh well, everything else works just fine.

yes mate it should, https://www.google.it/search?q=imalet+ddt40&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=947&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=xIwdVdLpFoP9UPvGgKAI&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ#tbm=isch&q=imalent+ddt40

nevermind i envy your nice approach to things

I don’t think most people are being duely unfair, some of the problems have stemed from gear bests mistakes as you said, but some people have had genuine issues with their lights, some quite trivial and some more serious, at the end of the day it is an expensive light and should work as stated and if people don’t mention it then manufacturers and vendors won’t up their game and just think we’re happy to overlook little faults and quirks
. Also a lot of the posts have more been more about asking other members for advice regarding if xy or z is a fault with the torch or just how the torch works, as the torch user interface does take a bit of getting used too, especially if all someone has had before is a single button interface torch.
I’ve had a couple of issues and I some times have to unscrew the head then tighten it again to get the +and - buttons to work and a couple of other small issues, it’s a little bit annoying, but hopefully once the manufacturers get some feedback they will address the issues, which they already have with regards to a charging issue that a member on here discovered after doing a review on the torch. That said do I like the torch, yes, it’s my go to torch at the moment and I’ve sort of got used to the couple of issues, and I would certainly recommend it, in fact I have to a couple of other people as its a pretty good all round torch for what I use it for.

Thanks to the OP for such a good review video

“…doesn’t erase the painful memory of Avatar.”.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Awesome…best part of the vid!

But,don’t you mean…“Dances With Wolves in Outer Space”? :cowboy_hat_face:

Well the light should function properly out of the box, so I could understand if people were upset. But that can be fixed with RMAs and warranty service. Thanks! I try to be fairly objective in these reviews, and I always hope that I provide enough information that the viewer can decide if it’s worth it or not.

Yeah man, what the hell happened to him?? Must have been hanging around George Lucas.

I think your on to something with the George Lucas connection.

But I think even a cameo appearance from Jar Jar Binks would have vastly improved Avatar.
