Want to know how those Laser Bike Tail Lights work/look? Check out this review/demonstration!

Ok, so nearing a month ago Crystal From LightsCastle.com sent me a few gadgets to review (for free). This is the final of the three things she sent me. It’s an LED tail light/ laser combo. I assume the lasers are guides to give other bikers a safe zone to stay outside of. I do not know why this is necessary, but well… whatever. Anyway, here is a short video that hopefully answers all your questions that you never really asked or needed to know.

The good.

Decent run times off 2 AAA batteries
Parallel lasers!
Impress the ladies!
Quick install time!

The bad.

Mounting system requires a piece not included to work with a lot of bikes. Which isn’t a big deal since it’s easy and cheap- but it should still be included.

So here it is after hours and hours and hours of work. Without further ado.

I enjoyed the video, thanks !

I wouldn’t worry, day lighters had a bug in his ass about something for a week or so lol, I liked the tongue in cheek review so thankyou for taking the time.

gords.

Lol now that is a funny review.

yeah …LOL… like Gords says… i might have a bug up my ass since USPS lost my light to fasttech’s miami office.
but for heaven’s sake people… if you going to do review… do it with pride and some common sense.
if you review a light then show the beamshots or comparison shots…
if you do a bike light then show it on the bike at night … like it was intended for.
sorry for the harsh critic, but if you going to do review… you better expect negative and positive comments coming out of it, that’s always been the nature… there’s always some people who expect more of it.
if you’re going to be sensitive about the comments… do youself a favor, please don’t.
all the comments and posts in this forum is to be taken with grain of salt… it is just a forum for discussion not life altering decisions.

I have now tattooed your guidelines on my forearm, so as to not offend in the future.

All hail king Daylighter.

I'm JacktheClipper and I greatly approve this review .

I may need to buy a bicycle, that’s pretty sweet

Are lasers on bikes even legal? I wouldn’t want to accidentally shoot down a plane or helicopter, wonder how the police would react to those things.

These are setup more like laser levels, the line doesn’t have the range or the power to affect helicopters.

If your effecting things in the sky….
You installed it upside down

I really liked the review. Seeing a video of it in action tells you everything you need to know.
.
One of the best things about this forum is the reviews that members make on all the variety of different stuff. I been wanting to take a crack at it myself, but I don’t think I want to get chewed out by quality control for not meeting standards. lol -No offense to QC

Love the review video! Especially the background music!

Thanks guys! I’m glad you guys liked the cheeziness. Sorry I didn’t do beamshots of those sweet LEDs. There’s a few lasershots in there though! I may do some more in the future but, they’ll be in the same vein in tone as this one.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I’m a little bit of a clown, so that’s how my reviews are. There are plenty of great technical reviews here, that I wouldn’t be able to replicate- I read them all.

Dude…that was really great! Don’t let the naysayers get ya down. And what’s better than bikes with lasers…maybe sharks?

Well personally, I think all reviews should include vids like that. lol

Informative and entertaining.

I bought a similar one from FT and RMA’d it because the laser lines were apparently crooked:

However it appeared at one point in the video that perhaps they only look like that when you shine them on the wall as I did?

You need to mount it on your bike straight. The lasers will distort outward (“keystone”) if it’s tilted upward or downward, and if it’s not lined up dead on with your rear tire the lines will not be parallel. So basically, don’t tighten it fully down and adjust it up and down and left and right until the lines are nice and parallel to your bike.

Ooops! Thanks for that. I guess FT also did not realize that or they could have advised me when I did the RMA. I enjoyed the video BTW, wasn’t really expecting beamshots from a Chinese Bike Light, but if I was I’d probably find them on CPF!
