Water Activated AA Battery - No Need Charger Anymore~~

These are quite interesting as technology. But I do not understand the talk about rechargeable batteries here. These can not replace them, or even alkalines.

What I collected from wikipedia

CONS:

  • Less than ½ of the capacity of alkaline, or NiMH
  • Not suitable for high drain applications
  • Short life after activated (how long, does anyone know?)
  • Known to deform and cause damage to devices
  • disposable, 1-time use
  • Needs water and 5-10 minutes to activate
  • Price

PROS:

  • “Infinite” shelf life before activation
  • More environmental friendly materials than in alkaline battery

There has also been a thread about these before. Even tho these do not seem very practical, I might get a few just out of the curiosity
