What 18650 gives the most amps?

Hey guys,

I finally got my DRY (thanks BIGWOOD) and it’s awesome. The purest white, the brightest, most badass light I have. It’s a monster and it pulls… 2.8 amps.

I was kind of disappointed. 2.8 amps on fresh batteries? Foy’s almost got 4.3 and this seems no different from his.
I finally traced down the problem and it’s probably the batteries. Currently I have Tenergy 2600s and they’re okay, but I’d like to see more.

So here’s the question: What brand of PROTECTED 18650 gives the most amps AND won’t break the bank?

Since you are in the US:

Panasonic CGR18650CH 2250 $6.99 $6.48 1.55 18.5x66.

(hybrid IMR 10amp! and SAFE!)

The problem is most likely your multimeter with high burden voltage

Glad to hear you like your DRY. Though 2.8A on direct drive seems a little low on your Tenergy 18650s. Like Shadowww mentioned, your multimeter maybe understating the readings.

The protected Panasonics would be an ok choice since I put the extra washers on the battery carrier to accommodate the long batteries (sorry, forgot to mention that when i sold it to you). However the Sanyos would probably give you a little more amps compared to the Pannys.

Th same happens with my HD2010. It only shows about 2.92 amps.
