What a nightmare

I keep having this bad dream. I am in a dark place (literally), not completely dark but enough dark to say "let me grab my flashlight", most of the times there are other people present to, and there is a need for a light (go figure, right) I grab my flashlight, fire it up and it just gives faint light i grab another one, click ->burst of light but then it just dimms to unusable moonlight level, it's the same with third flashlight, forth... all of them (although in my dream I only check about 4). I try to swap batteries but that doesn't change the situation, as time progresses I get less and less light.

It's a nightmare let me tell you, I keep thinking how I need to get more batteries and chargers :/

I have a similar kind of dream where I’m in need of a lot of lumen so obviously I think: no problem I have enough of them.
Until I turn on my lights and find out their output is near nothing…

Have had this dream a few times last months.

Never knew it was so dangerous to become lumens junkies :open_mouth:

Doesn’t this belong over here?

Maybe, maybe not, but that place is meant as a joke this one is just… scary :stuck_out_tongue:
Maybe I just need to buy new flashlight, a reliable one, that won’t fail

I know it is a real nightmare, scary, I was just joking.
When your having nightmares involving flashlights, you know your a flashaholic.

A very reliable flashlight might help ease the nightmare. You could still dream of dead batteries unfortunately. Do you often find your flashlights are unreliable (in real life)?

I used to have those bad dreams when I was younger. One time I passed out drunk on the farm and I had the sweetest dream. It was basically where I passed out but looked around and there was none there but a white chicken on the ground. I chased and chased that chicken but I couldn’t catch it

Course I woke up in one of the outposts with my wife sitting over me trying to get me conscious again. We all have had our issues lol

But then when I got knocked out remember, it was like time was cut from my life. I just remember before and then waking up.

Think the strangest dreams of mine always have to do with turning ethereal and jumping around the universe. I don’t dream about light really. My guess would be from reading comics as a kid. But I always end up finding something really cool like aliens or a primordial world or dinosaur type creatures.

Sometimes I wonder if they’ve ever checked behind the sun. On the opposite orbit of earth. That’s my train of thought- maybe a little too much information lol

> I wonder if they’ve ever checked behind the sun.

Yes! STEREO - Science Center - Where is STEREO?

Glad I haven't had that exact dream yet. I've had similar where something doesn't work right. Like my legs for running, etc.

At least it's just a dream. I saw a program once where people that survived one of the hurricanes (I think it was Sandy) gave accounts of their experience. More than one talked about how terrifying it is to be in a totally dark house with rising water and their one flashlight not working. In reality, I'm betting you will never have that problem.

Anomaly my ass!

Dreaming about incandescent flashlights?

I used to have the recurring dream where I had to run away and would keep falling down. Also I still have a dream where I can jump any any distance like in the broad jump if I kick my legs as I am moving. This is not like flying, but rather butt to the ground with my legs in front of me as in a broad jump.
I have always thought those 2 dreams to be interesting as they are exact opposites. One where I am disabled, not able to flee and the other where I am hyper enabled.

My god, what would a therapist have a o say about that?

In my dreams all flashlights have only moon mode too… it’s so strange :~

Its a common type nightmare for humans to dream about darkness and a lack of light to stop the darkness. I have those dreams too in the past, where the rooms or place is very dark, (almost completely) and every lamp or light you try to turn on is either very dim or don’t work. From some Goggle searching, humans have a natural fear about darkness, and the ability for darkness to hide things we fear & can not see, causing this common type of nightmare, with no ability to make the “dark place” brighter regardless of what you do. Its like everything you turn on gives off the same glow as a burning out candle.

Its the scene like below the “aura” of the surroundings what you see in your bad dream ?

my eternal nightmare: slow motion running

Could there be a spiritual reason for your dream? 0:)

In my dream I would say the room is more like a basement or some kind of a shelter (or something like this but with so litle light that you can’t see past the table) , no windows just very faint emergency light here and there, I have a glimpse what is happening couple (2 maybe 3 at best) of meters around me but I can’t see details and I can’t see in the distance and of course I have a feeling that the space is a lot bigger than what I can see.
But the main thing is the feeling of anxiety and uncertainty, at first all is ok, one happy family in a basement  but as one by one of my flashlights keep failing, feeling of discomfort increases, I keep clicking the switches hoping that I will move from moonlight mode and get back my “900” lumens, I even start bashing my flashlights against the palm hoping that this will somehow fix things, at the end I can only see flashlight in my hands that doesn’t work.
It’s not like I wake up screaming in sweat, just a weird dream, most of my flashlights are pretty reliable but I do have some that act a bit and couple of noname cells that are ready for recycle bin (very short run time) but I keep using them…

I’ve had a few dreams of lights not working (i never think to change the battery though, i wonder why), but oddly enough its in real life weird things seem to happen, the one time i critically needed a light and the tailcap fell apart internally (lucky i had another light in arms reach, i figured out the internal falling apart a few hours later), another time a light refused to start on a freshly charged battery, so i had to use another light (lucky i was at home), and another the light started, died and worked when i got mad and banged its head on a table. All of these were one offs and only happened when i really needed light in situations where i could have been injured or killed from their failures. When i am using flashlights for non critical applications i don’t have any failures.

I have nightmares where I can’t punch hard enough. Someone is usually attacking me, or I’m defending a loved one and my punches have no affect on the person.

I normally wake up, and go buy more ammo

or else you get into badass mode and start doing this in your dreams:
