Least Distracting "Background" Music
When I am hard at work, and do not want to be distracted even momentarily by the tunes I have on, I tend to favor single-instrument classical music. Below are some of my favorites.
Some of the things I avoid are: 1. lyrics (my brain cannot ignore them), 2. bombastic/complex music, 3. new-age music (too repetitive, like water dripping), 4. anything with attention demanding crescendos. There must be a few other no-nos, too, but I can't think of them just now. You've probably got the idea anyway.
