Yes, and he really takes it places with that song. It’s a surprisingly awesome match and he unlocks the best in it. It’s an amazing track and possibly his best work.
He is more famous for his multi-style approaches and this is his most famous work on Metallica:
#25 had me in tears!!!
Man, I gotta get me one of those Devil Hats…
I remember when this came out in the 90’s. It never really caught on. Which I can’t figure out. It’s a fantastic song!
The Allman Brothers Band with The Tonight Show Horns (live, 1990, 1991)
It is not uncommon to see a guest musician sit in with the house band on one of these late night, talks shows. Here, the situation is reversed, with members of the house band sitting in with the guest artist!
The guys rehearsed for these performances, and it shows. The chemistry is great. The mutual respect is obvious.
Great stuff… Unfortunately it reminds me just how crappy these late night “comedy”/variety shows have gotten… I miss Johnny Carson and Doc Serverinsen.
No doubt, Doc Severinsen had a killer band!
Kris Kristofferson · Rita Coolidge – "Help Me Make It Through the Night" (live, 1972)
Here are Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge singing a song from Kristofferson's first album. Coolidge and Kristofferson were married at the time. Although not as famous as "Me and Bobby McGee," the Kristofferson composition has been covered many times.
Kris Kristofferson, age 88, died yesterday, reportedly at peace, with family members in attendance.
R.I.P.
Blast from the past…
Scary, but I could put this on repeat and listen to it for, well, okay, maybe not hours but at least a few times in a row.
Warren and Dickey sound great.
