I saw a coworker trying to reattach a clip on some cheap camo-colored scaled knife, with one bigger screw, about the size of your knife and thought I should make a suggestion for a Cold Steel knife. The recent sales have been offering good prices.

I’m seeing Ultem all over, and undecided about it on knives. The dice are great though.

I can’t see the attraction of ultem. Just ugly yellow plastic as far as I can tell. Maybe if I had handles breaking on me all over the place I’d want something better but I don’t.

The two, well 3, Civivi knives I have are just lovely to open. I avoided the button lock Elementum, it’s big, wide and just ungainly compared with the flipper version. The flipper version in orange was so nice I bought a black blade Burgundy red too.

Today is a Petrified Fish Beluga. I soon changed out of sandals when I started trying the front flipper before I ended up at the hospital. I can’t get a 100% decent flip on the thing, but it’s a mighty lovely knife. I’ll do some better pics, these were for an unboxing mini review on another channel.

Not so ugly yellow plastic, though I have a love/hate with FRN, it works on the Salt.

Ultem is stronger, stiffer, lighter, and more resistant to wear . What does this mean for users? No matter how hard you grip it, it will not bend. Even if you carry the knife for years, you won’t see wear on the pivot or in the handle texture.

I’m in the same boat. I think it’s ugly. Don’t get the attraction.
