What blade did you EDC today?

It’s the PMA11. Basically a 10V. It’s my garage, landscaping knife. Sharpened to around 13dps, currently at 600 grit finish. Being a garage knife I really dont focus on corrosion. It will never touch food!

We’ve recently seen some interesting takes on that concept including modern folders that hold disposable razors. The most interesting I’ve handled is this OTF, the TacKnives Zipper.

Yes.. I figured it was one of the non-stainless ones… No problem, several of my garage tools show signs of different levels of corrosion…:winking_face_with_tongue:

Happy Easter! This book isn’t part of my carry but you can see it has some use. The purpose of this book is “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

Excuse the tool branding on them but I like these 2.

I liked the one you linked, was tempting a new torch purchase soon but I might go something like that instead!

Mokume Monday? Kind of a stretch with the knife. That’s why I added the bead to match Lily

Giving the high-end, safe-queen types some pocket time lately…

SRM 125L-GB. For a sub-$20 knife, it’s a surprisingly well thought out design.

Has their very-nice flipper, similar to the Air.

This one uses their “taco-shell” folded steel frame, which feels quite sturdy:

There were a couple of nice touches I found when I disassembled it for cleaning:

  • the rear standoff is held captive by a cutout in the frame paired with a D-shape cut on the standoff so it doesn’t spin when tightening the screws.
  • the stop pin politely slides out of the frame so it doesn’t interfere with removing the blade & bearings
  • there is a detent ramp cut into the blade… a minor thing, for sure, but I had no expectation of any consideration for improving the action when unlocking the knife.

The only real knock I have on it is the super-minimal lockbar access - it’s there but you still end up either smashing your finger in & hoping it disengages the lockbar or just using the corner of your thumbnail:

Even with something as basic as 12C28N steel, I’m quite happy - is at least stainless and easy to sharpen. And rather tough, which I feel is a plus with such a narrow blade. The closed silhouette gives me CEO vibes:

They’re under $18 on Amazon at the moment, black or red scales. Hard to pass up at that point.

(No, I do not have anything to do with SRM, Amazon or any company whatsoever - just a cheap deal for an interesting knife…)
