What blade did you EDC today?

Pilar is such a good little knife. I love this thing

I love that thing, wish I had got more burgundy PD#1 Sekis when they were available. I only have the Delica, and it was my first one. I’d love an Dragonfly, Endela or Stretch.

I love the scale color and especially with the black hardware. Steel is like Cruwear which is pretty good for me. I don’t go over about 600gr, and I find the edge lasts longer. A lot of my cutting is cardboard and plastic pallet wrap and straps.

Older picture but hadn’t carried it in a while.

Since nobody asked I’ll go ahead and mention that unfortunately my K390 SE LeafJumper is gone forever. I’m 99.99% sure I accidentally left it on a freight pallet bound for Salina, KS. I don’t think it’s coming back. Hopefully whoever found it knows or realizes its value as an absolute workhorse of a knife.

Summary

I wanted to get another one, but for some reason decided on an SE K390 Police 4. Probably way overkill for carrying and likely should’ve gotten the SE K390 Spyderco Enuff fixed blade instead. I searched everywhere for an SE Native Chief Salt in Magnacut, but could only find the apparently discontinued LC200N version. I actually like the green scale more than the yellow (and I have the Stretch 2 XL Salt already) but really wanted to try spyderco Magnacut. Haven’t found much about serrated LC200N.

And I had planned on NOT buying another knife til the end of November, but since that LeafJumper was just about my favorite knife I had to.

Something new & different… & named after a Dr Who race of aliens - Civivi Zygon.

Interesting lock mechanism. Uses omega springs like a BM Axis-style lock, but with a “bar” combined with a back-mounted slider not unlike an OTF trigger. I think the nearest design is the CJRB Recoil 2 Lock, but this one completely eliminates the side-studs.

I find trying to pull it back like a Snecx Super-lock is less reliable & more uncomfortable than I’d like, but I have found a method I like - pull the lock back with my thumb while keeping my index finger tight against the front of the handle choil. When the blade drops, the sharpening choil is totally ample to land on my finger without risking catching the heel of the blade edge. Then I just adjust my grip and push the spine until it closes.

The detent is better than some Axis-style locks, making flicking & reverse-flicking doable, if not exactly snappy. Mine came quite sharp, nicely thin behind the edge and with a well-done plunge grind… Only real, very minor, complaint is that it’s just a hair small for my hand. But the G10 is finished exceptionally well, I don’t think I’ve seen this texture before and I very much like it… It’s smooth, but retains solid grip and looks quite nice against some of the more pedestrian stuff I’ve seen before.

Came in today (to replace my lost LeafJumper SE K390). I knew it’d be long, but boy is it long.

Still gonna eventually get another LeafJumper since it was just about the perfect size.

Kizer Momo Mini. Been wanting this one for a while. Got it crazy cheap.

I have the big boy - one of only a couple front flippers I enjoy, but it’s also quite large… a darn-near folding kitchen knife

Yeah. I was really wanting the large. But this was such a good deal. And the size is near perfect.

It’s always fun to have at least one comically large folder, just for the sake of having one.
