Lovely blade profile.

Very nice smooth lines, sweet blade profile, simply elegant. Nice grab! I’ve got a miniature version of that, also Sanrenmu I think, keep it my camera bag. Stainless scales, neat little emergency knife.

I like the 7023 a lot, actually it was my first when I decided to get something else then my trusty Victorinox Swiss Army.

Not sure how much additional pocket time she’ll get…. I am a tip up kind of guy…. but this is a sweet knife!
I have been eying it for awhile…. it has LAWKS, but not AutoLAWKS.

Best kind, the AutoLAWKS must get so annoying.

I have a CRKT Hammond Cruiser and a Harnds Blazer both with LAWKS, if they’d have been AutoLAWKS I wouldn’t have bought them.

The false edge on that CRKT could be interpreted as a dagger, which would make it an illegal knife here in Texas. I love the look of it, but don’t need some barney fife cop going bonkers on a knife that shouldn’t be in the ban group.

Always up to the discretion and interpretation of the arresting officer I guess, so I check with my cop neighbor before carrying a blade. The Medford SUK LOOKS like it was made for stabbing, which it more or less was. And in the law books that could make it illegal for carry. Borderline, seems they’ve got ya on the ropes no matter what you do. My neighbor is pretty laid back, 26 years on the force, but I can see a noob giving problems.

I generally find any knife laws pretty ridiculous. I actually wasn’t aware that Texas had any laws concerning knives. I am referring to laws concerning blade type / shape etc.
I am still hoping that NYC keeps it’s insanity in NYC and it doesn’t creep north. I am still pissed about the guy getting arrested for carrying a UKPK. |(
A few manufacturers and sellers won’t even ship to NY state because of the situation in NYC. http://www.bentoboxshop.com/ has it listed right on it’s home page.

In Texas, a Bowie is illegal, a dagger is illegal, sharp on both edges is illegal. Anything over 5 1/2” long from handle to tip, no can do. Essentially if it looks like it was made to stab, not cut, illegal. I think it’s because of all the people that moved here from NY but can’t prove anything. :stuck_out_tongue:

I made a new sheath for the Damascus blade from Larsen. The Elephant hide with it’s re-enforced kydex was getting more and more difficult to get the knife out. Being stitched together, I had no easy way to clean the inside.

So I made this Holstex carbon fiber look sheath this afternoon. Works nicely, the blade is very secure but relatively easy to deploy. The 2 screws allow the sheath to opened and cleaned out, which I’m finding a necessity in EDC use.

No doubt!
Holster came out good!

It looks slightly off in a single plane because it crosses over through the sheath. The handle is on top and the tip is on bottom, angling it away from my body for a draw. I like it, but it’s a dual angle tight fit and I’ll have to get used to it as I am tending to get it in a bind putting it back in.

This stuff is pretty fun to work with! Doesn’t work out? Heat it up and start over! Tweak it with a hair dryer.

Sanrenmu 7063.

Beautiful image…

Another great looking holster DBCstm. I need to get some of that stuff, but I doubt mine would look nearly as good. Do you duck tape the blades to give a little wiggle room when making them?

We're pretty lucky in SC. No real restrictions. As I understand the law (I'm not an attorney) we can carry switch blades , daggers, etc and there are no blade length restrictions. There is a catch all though for criminal intent. So like you said above for your situation, it can be a touchy situation here too depending on how the law officer sees things.

A Sanrenmu 763 in Aluminium

I taped the blade with Kapton as it’s thin and tough, then overlaid it with the Blue masking tape that painters use for a little more thickness. Ultimately though, by the time I’d gotten done all the wiggle room was gone anyway. Might have removed the tape too early.

Rig up a press, almost anything you can leave with good pressure on it for 10 minutes or so. 3/4” plywood on top of the foam would work, and then some bar clamps to hold pressure. Almost anything else is work and more difficult to get it right.

I really like that shade and intensity of blue, I have both the 7063LUC-LI and the Axis lock 7063AUC-LI not really a coincidence but I have the LB-763, black aluminium one as well.

The Land 6261 is aboutthe same size and the Axis lock is just as good.
