Hello all, how would i go about replacing my emitter? Any emitters which is good from FT? Do i also need to change my driver as well?
Many Thanks.
Hi Prodfk, you can check out some XM-L2 emitters at FastTech here: http://www.fasttech.com/category/1609/diy-kits-parts-led-emitters/MTMzPVhNLUwy/
You would be able to use your existing driver. What exactly happened? Did the LED burn out? If you put 2x li-ions instead of one, you might have fried the driver as well.
1A, 1B, 1C, etc are cool white tints, 3C is considered neutral white, and 7B, 7C, etc is considered warm white.
Mix and match to your heart’s content!
What C8 do you have? Is it a Convoy?
If you want to swap emitters buy them from Int’l Outdoor, they have a good selection:

The Noctigon ones are on copper not aluminium and hardly cost any more, but will be much better when driven hard.
If you have a convoy then you’ll want a 16mm board. Personally NW and high CRI are worth far more than total lumens, although there are CW options if you want.
As for drivers, a 17mm one should be the right size. This one has been recommended to me, but I’ve not used it yet:

5 tints are considered neutral.
My vote is Hank at IOS for the emitter - great prices and selections from coolest/brightest to warmest tints, pre-mounted on copper.
Alright, Thanks everyone for their wonderful reply
Sorry, I stand corrected. The 7 series would be warm white.
6, 7, or 8 are warm white.
