What do you look for in a knife?

There are several things that I find I look for in a knife other than the obvious (good steel, ability to hold an edge, etc.).

I like liner locks that aren’t so hard to disengage, blades that can be flipped out easily, black G10 is usually a plus, drop point blades. I like it when the blade isn’t sharp all the way into the handle (for finger saving purposes).

I also don’t like it when the end of the blade (when closed) doesn’t come all the way to the end of the knife and is exposed. An example is the SRM 6261. I didn’t notice this before I ordered it

What are some of the things that are important to you when looking for another knife?

Flat ground blade, always cuts better.

Slim and light. If it is too large or heavy, I tend not to carry it.

Pointy tip. I love Warncliff blades and find them most useful. They are not popular but they are wonderful if you actually use your knives.

That it is legal to carry in Israel / Europe…

I like big folders, good thick blade (3.5 - 4 mm), very strong lock up and that the blade shape likes me. I like flippers too. Of course, good steel, G10 or micarta (or rosewood). I like very strong knives.

Other than build quality and price -- knives I buy have to look good.

I can agree with that

Now I'm curious so I need to find my 2 - srm 6261's.

got one for fathers day very very high quality, not pretty but solid

As I use them when I go fishing, they need to be rust proof, that is why I love the H1 steel made by spyderco, you can leave them even on salt water and no sign of rust.

For me they are quite sharp, but they are not the sharpest but I do not have many others to compare with.

I only own the ladybug version which is the cheapest and smallest version of it with serrated blade, if I had the money I would go next with the Pacific Salt Plain Edge 4 7/8”, or the delica but they are a bit expensive…
