I saw Australian band, Men at Work live in Sydney in 1983.
Many years later they were sued for copying the flute riff in “Down under” from a children’s song.
This had a devastating effect on them, and many say it caused the early death of flute player, Greg Ham

Maybe some of you remember that today it’s been 40 years since we left a great rock personality.
Of course, I mean Bon Scott.

Scott formed his first group, The Spektors, in 1964 and became the band’s drummer and occasional lead vocalist. He performed in several other bands including The Valentines and Fraternity before replacing Dave Evans as the lead singer of AC/DC in 1974.

AC/DC’s popularity grew throughout the 1970s, initially in Australia, and then internationally. Their 1979 album Highway to Hell reached the top twenty in the United States, and the band seemed on the verge of a commercial breakthrough. However, on 19 February 1980, Scott spent a night of partying in London. Aged only 33 at the time, he passed out after drinking heavily in a London club. …

I checked on random sites for “top 100 hard rock songs” and more than 70% (approximately) of the songs are over 40 years old. If you add the next 10 years, you will reach almost 100 percent.

Hi Bonham,

I’m back on the forum after a long break…
With reference to Bon Scott, I live about 10km from the port of Fremantle, Western Australia where Bon grew up.
In honour of him they commissioned a statue of him in the harbour. We often went there for fish and chips but that all ended with the virus scare. I used to work with an old guy who was one of the top drummers in the local 60’s bands. He knew Bon well and used to give him drumming lessons.
