Pretty much everything from Romisen. (the real ones at least, G2 , RC-29, RC-T601 whenever you see un-anodized tailthread they are probably fake) They compete with higher cost brands imho.
Everything Solarforce if you like P60-sytle lights.
Shiningbeam branded torches (they rival the 4Sevens Quark series!)
Solarforce (if you're into P60-style dropins)
for upper medium budget:
anything by Eagtac (10yrs warranty!)
Fenix is high-quality without question but overpriced. There is no actual gain over the aforementioned brands by paying the premium price for Fenix torches.
now that eagletac is mentioned, anyone has any idea where can i order one to singapore or asia without paying the expensive shipping cost? i can only find it in US webshop and ebay.always wanted to get one but hard to justify the expensive shipping cost.thanks for info provided.
Solarforce seems to have decent (and improving) quality, right across the product line. Prices are, however, starting to creep up and away from the budget realm. Still a great value and a safe bet, if purchased from a known retail portal.
Olight is of very good quality, and could be considered a semi-premium brand. Their less-pricey offerings are still very well-built.
I've been extremely pleased with all of the EagleTac products I've owned or handled. My current favorite flashlight is the P20A2 MKII XM-L in neutral white. It ran me about $60 from an AD, which I realize is more expensive than the usual budget lights.
For $60 though I get an extremely high build quality, the ten year warranty with a U.S. address for repairs, incredible efficiency with current control on all modes, a very nice molded holster, and the LED module is easily upgradeable (which will save money as I won't have to sell and buy an entire new light in order to get the newest LED).
All f the above make the $60 investment WELL worth it to me.
I carry one everyday T20-r5 (lucked out got it for like 35)
problem is it KILLS cr123s
also LOVE my solarforce, while it may not be as bright as my FandyFire, The finish is great and the metal is solid.
my problem is after some burn outs, i have trouble trusting p60 style flashlights. a solid base screwed into aluminum is FAR more efficient at heat transfer than a floating base.
It varies by individual and by type of light. I feel that value plays a larger part than strict bottom-line pricing.
While I would never pay $109 for a custom Ti AAA light, the $180 HID at CNQG could still be considered budget. If I were in the market for a semi-custom mini-HID, the closest competitive offerings are $450 and $600 - IF available.
I agree that this discussion is worthy of a dedicated thread - I'll start one.
yes,i did.contacted the dealer quite sometime ago and the price is good but its out of stock til now.getting tired of waiting for the restock...so start looking for other alternatives
