The Geoman gear replacement battery pack for my Magicshine P7 light is old and doesn’t last as long as it used to. This battery pack was the official replacement for the battery pack that came with the light when it was new (back when it sold for $100 and there weren’t any $16 clones available on ebay) and it’s been used with the oe charger that came with the light for about 5 years. Even though the runtime isn’t what it used to be, it’s still long enough for my shorter commute with the P7 light mainly being used for a backup light these days. I figured I could keep using the battery pack until it quits working, but I’d like to know if there’s anything I should worry about before I do this.
without seeing the pack open who knows?
some cheap and nasty ones do no balancing at all and barely have any protection.
worst case kaboom!
more likely sudden death at the worst time.
open it up and post pics.
the mentioned $16 replacements would definatly fall into the cheap n nasty catagory!
the original might be a good design and worth rebuilding.
Might be time to recycle it
