More stable tail standing. Attachement to surfaces that gravity normally wouldn’t allow such as a metal wall. It could even allow for upside down tailstand if you have a metal surface facing the floor.
thanks very much, skyrider1.
And here is the part that puzzles me. In what condition, will there be a metal surface(on head or a wall, etc.)that we can use the magnet in the tailcap. Will people be glad to pay extra money for a flashlight with a magnet in tail?
It could be useful in lots of situations. Working on the car, maintaining industrial equipment, or, perhaps, you need some direct ask lighting in the kitchen and need to put it on the side of the fridge. Anyplace you need hands free and there is metal around, the magnet/tailcap combo would be nice to have. In my real life, however, it hardly ever comes up.
Which brings me to your next question, would I be glad to pay extra for it? I guess it depends on how you define “glad” and “extra”. Since every feature on a flashlight and the total price of a flashlight has a cost component attached to it, in the end, any one particular feature’s cost has to be weighed against whatever the perceived value of the light is generally.
Why don’t you just show us what you want to sell and what the price is and we’ll tell you if we think it is a good deal overall.
BLFers get a discount, right?

My FourSevens Preon P0 has a magnet in the base and it’s so useful! I love that I can stick it to things, e.g. buckle on my handbag, legs of my desk.

How much extra? Small neodymium magnets are inexpensive to buy.
I found the magnet in the tail very useful for pc building as it frees your hands up for the more tricky parts inside the case.
The magnet is good for pulling the battery out of the light, which is especially nice if the flashlight is mounted to a bicycle.
Alternatively anything with a magnet sucks for EDC if you have any sort of magnetic keycard for work. If you accidentally put them in the same pocket, time to get a new card.

On my Preon P0, the magnet in the base keeps the battery in. I like the sound it makes when the battery comes out.
I do a lot of work on compound bows on a bow press. I can’t tell you how useful it would be to have a strong enough magnet to keep a light easily connected/removed in a moveable horizontal position. ![]()
I’m actually a little surprised that the usefulness of the feature to a certain segment of flashlight users would be questioned. ![]()
thanks cone, and all you guys comments.
I have some problems to try to sell this flashlight.
This product is no longer available.
Have to say I‘m not a flashlight user. Don’t know there could be so many conditions that make a magnet useful. Sorry for my ignorance.
We currently do wholesale, If you guys are interested in this small light. I’ll see what I can do.
And there is another thing concerns me. Might this light of ours might be a little bigger, which could make it’s usefulness limited. It’s certainly bigger than a FourSevens Preon P0. But at least I know a magnet is useful.
Many thanks.
Here is quite a popular light which has a magnet in base, and larger; combined with the adjustable angle head makes it versatile as a work light:

It would probably be more popular if it had a flood beam by default.

This light features a MOLLE right angle design, see it use TIR lens. The beam should be a littele narrower. Guess It should be too shiny for eyes when use closely. but it hase a low mode.
thank you for helping us get cheap lights…
your offer is very much appreciated……
can you get us each 3 of these lights at $2.50 each ???
you are a good friend to the forum….
Sorry Cat eyes, but the $2.5 is for wholesale. Make the MOQ 1 is to attract people to click in. But I’ll see if I can arrange 3 pcs for a good price.
Hi, cat eyes. Checked with factory. They don’t have a stock, just made some for sample. So I can’t help you with 3 or 120 pcs. The real MOQ is 2000 pcs.
I’m sorry.
Let us say that you are a spy sent to recover the plans for your country’s Pangalactic Gargle Blaster that North Korea has stolen. Being North Korea, their most advanced storage device is the floppy disk. You recover the plans, but on the way out of the country, you are surrounded by a gaggle of Kim Jun Unk clones. To prevent them from recovering the plans, you whip out your trusty EDC flashlight with the magnet in the base and erase the floppy. World saved! Can anybody afford not to have a magnet in their flashlight? The safety of the free world may depend upon it.

Great, texaspyro. I will try to use it in marketing.

The side of body of a vehicle.
Especially useful under the hood or underside of vehicle.
Inside a metal storage building, metal shed, or trailer.
Any condition where there is a metal surface available such as an appliance, a steel door, railing, conduit, water pipes, pole/post, metal shelving, under shelf brackets.
I love a flashlight with side switch and tail magnet. Magnet should be removable if desired.
Many many thanks. I could use your comments in marketing. Cool.
