What is the OP?

Not orange peel. Y’all might think this is a dumb question, but I’ve never heard of this anywhere but BLF. I keep seeing “The OP” in discussions and would like to know what it means. Thanks.

The OP is the Original Poster, which in this thread is SubSailorVet.

Original poster or it could mean opening post. (/First post)

a.k.a. original post.

Good point!

Thanks gentlemen. Now I is smart. :student:

Now you is an OP.

SubSailorVet

You are the OP, and in this thread you posted the OP, now all you need to do is peel an orange and you will HAVE an OP as well.

OP to the power of 3

All hail the OP3:-

lol OP i thought you are trolling.

Over Priced :stuck_out_tongue:

I am master of the OP!

Well if the OP posts a pic of an OP reflector and a peeled orange in the OP, he is an OG

Original poster / original post
This is not just on BLF, this is literally every forum ever and social media sites too.

Oh but BLF can be confusing, we understand the sentence below.

“FYI check out the GAW that SB, PD68 and TK are doing the details are in the OP, found vathe FP, check the URL, you can win a LT Tool in NW,CW or WW and choose OP or SMO reflector if the TIR is not for your liking, besides rumour has it MTNE, BG, GB, Simon on AE and FT are going to donate some coupons that allows you to PP some extra cash and buy nice things with IRCC, so TY to all involved, they even talk about it via PM and on CPF, TFF, /r and TLF”
I mean come on

 Ha, nice acronym soup!

Fun bit of history: One of the major motivators for starting BLF was because I as a new user on CPF was confused by their use of acronyms for the Chinese stores, combined with their rule against posting links to Chinese products. There was this little 1xAA $5 cheapy (which would be exorbitantly expensive by our standards today) called the “Powerlight” which, as usual, had large amounts of variation in styling, battery life, and brightness depending on where you bought it. I really wanted one for my first LED flashlight purchase, but I was quite lost by comments like: “Yeah mine was SKU 4563 from KD, but on DX the SKU 32845 is brighter…”

I understood most of that :open_mouth: Scary.

Now I am officially worried, I understood ALL of that

Cheers David

OP = Over Powered (never used on this forum though)

Kind regards

Me too… actually all of it. real scary.
