#priorities
During the winter I use a Crelant V4A. I keep NiMH LSD cells in it.
During the summer I will either have a VG-10 or a C8 in the door panel.
well, after YOU guys all got me off my incan maglite kick? lol… (i was a 4xD maglite kinda guy)
i was never without a cheap handheld zoomie after that… and i was a delivery driver after dark, so, i used the light a lot.
i ended up with a 1504 and being “moderately happy” before delivering for a living ended. which was sad for flashlight playing, ha ha
At the moment, nothing. I’m afraid of the cold weather zapping the batteries, even if they are lithium-ion. Don’t want to bother with switching out lights or batteries all the time.
My batteries were in the car all summer and so far this winter in Texas and I pulled them in yesterday and they still had 4.15v and internal resistance was unchanged.
At the moment a Xtar Wk41 in car and a modded Thrunite T21 in work van —I like small lights that are mostly flood —- have to be able to teeth grip it in case I need two hands to fix something —— most of the time car and shop lights are ones that are beat up already
SK68 with Energizer lithium primary
Don’t want li ion permanently in the car (but bring a light when we leave but not all the time just too hot in summer or cold in winter
A 43cm long bat shaped with 3 AAA cells, the top part can slide out to reveal a red diffuser so seems handy
A Thorfire TK4A with eneloops, lots of light and fits perfect in a compartment of the glovebox
I want to have a headlamp to keep my hands free if I’m going to be working on my vehicle. I also want to use either lithium primaries or NiMH for storing in it. So, I currently keep my non-pro Armytek Tiara A1 there. Since it’s an angle-light/headlamp, it also has the ability to be removed from its holder and used as hand-held flashlight.
Why one earth would you keep living in a place like that?
I got a Eagle Eye X2R modded with XPL HD V6-3D and micro tectured lens
And a red and white diffusor cap from Simons Convoy Shop
[VG10](<a) href=“Photo and Video Storage | Photobucket target=“_blank”>
These two are always in my car If nothing else.
Enhanced cultural vibrancy?
“What is your choice of flashlight for your car?” Coleman CTac 60. 1 x 18650, 1 x XM-L2, 600 lumen. Nothing special, runs ok. Never been in a wreck. And the car, too.
I keep a BLF A6, with optional orange and white wands/diffusors, in the glove compartment.
Since this is about safety/runtime rather than maximum output; it’s loaded with a KeepPower protected 18650.
I also keep this (loaded with CR123A) in the car:
For backup I have a 4Sevens MiNi 123, and spare CR123A, in the door pocket.
There is also a window break hammer with seat belt cutter in the seat pocket.
C8, older thorfire model, still stock. Enough throw for making out street signs in the distance or signaling passers by. Lower modes are nice for under the hood or finding stuff that rolled under the seat. It could probably be used to break a window if needed.
I’m not thrilled with the cool-ish thorfire tint.

I keep this one in my car just in case

Better than nothing; but you, and everybody else, should get a tungsten tipped hammer for that. If/when you need it, you’re probably not functioning at a 100%, so you’ll need all the help you can get.
I have a triple xpl2 eagle eye x7 in one car and a triple xpl hi v2 5a2 blf x6 in another.
Convoy L6
I have a lot of lights and extra batteries and chargers in my only vehicle, my van.
A Proton Pro AA at the ready so that I don’t have to take the Fenix PD35 from my belt, or the Fenix LD01 off of the keychain.
In the back with my tools I keep a Nitecore HC50 headlamp, a Petzl Tikka plus4 headlamp, a Small Sun ZY-T08, a CMG infinity AA, 2 SK-68s as hanging overhead lights (like a trunk light), a AAA Thorfire PF03, a few AA and AAA eneloops, and a cheap AA “police” light and 3 AA alkalines, for giving to someone on the road, either in a broken car, or a hitchhiker.
I also keep 3 long running bicycle tail light flasher lights, 1 AA and 2 AAA, in case of a breakdown, and a Fenix HL10 headlamp that is in the case with the old laptop that I store in the vehicle (I don’t have a smartphone).
Along with the batteries are a small solar charger for the NiMH batteries, and a ThruNite MCC-4 charger, and an Xtar SP1 charger, also, 1 or 2 headlamp straps that adapt flashlights to headlamps, and a small selection of diffusers, including emergency orange wands.
If I go on a trip, of course I would take a couple of my more powerful lights, but around town I try to keep it to a minimum.
