This is news to me. Might have to try it some time, however, I do feel like cold brew is best enjoyed on a hot summer day, not too many of those for the time being…!
This is doubly true once you add the tonic. Have it with a slice of orange over ice next time summer comes around. A hot mug is the way to go for now!
I lived in the US for a short few years. I absolutely loved those canned Arnold Palmer’s drinks. Can’t get em here. I’ve tried making it but it never tastes quite the same.
If I had to guess, the missing ingredient is probably high-fructose corn syrup. Manufacturers put it in practically everything over here.
I drink a lot of different beverages. Not nearly as prolific as @ToyKeeper though.
- Seltzer, in various flavors, but I prefer grapefruit. Spindrift is my favorite (real juice in it).
- Coffee, using medium roast beans (dark roast is too bitter; medium roast is so flavorful). Fresh roast is best. I try to source it 2 weeks out from roasting.
- Black tea, specifically Yorkshire Gold from Taylors of Harrogate.
- Chai tea, usually a premade teabag blend. I like to add cardamom seeds and fresh ginger.
- Green tea, genmai matcha.
- Herbal tea (hot), from a few tea houses like Tea Forte and Le Palais des Thés.
- Herbal tea (cold), using Celestial Seasonings Red Hibiscus or Mixed Berry.
- Earl Grey tea, on occasion. Twining’s or Taylors of Harrogate.
- Filtered or spring water
- Cocoa, once in a while
- Kombucha, once in a while
- Fresh squeezed orange or grapefruit juice
- Beer (too many to list)
- Wine (too many to list)
- Gin based cocktails (gin & tonic, martinis, etc.)
Kombucha for the win! I was repulsed by the concept for a while, then I’ve received a bottle of double fermented fruit and black tea kombucha and I was hooked! Had to work up the courage to try first though.
Yeah, the “essence of vinegar” taste is something you need to acquire tolerance… and then in time, you begin to crave it! One of these days I want to try my hand at actually home brewing it.
5% V-8 brand peach and mango

95% lemonade
Easy as pie and
Amazingly tasty!!!
I like beer but I can’t drink it during the day and it’s too many calories to drink it every day.
I like coffee but I rarely exceed 2 cups a day since caffeine takes a big effect on me. After third cup my palms sweat and feel the heart banging.
Water? Yes. In aqua sanitas. But it tastes like… Nothing? No taste? My gradnma used to say: drink some compote Chris, water is for horses
But i found my own salvation. It’s cistus herb tea.
It tastes more like beer than like a tea due to its mild bitterness and has a whole bunch of positive effects on your body.
This tea looks very modest, it even leaves a film on a cup but I do recommend to try it.
It’ll quench your thirst well, boost your health and give a feeling of drinking mild beer.
Cheers to all
Fascinating. I’d never heard of Cistus herb tea before (I actually thought you made a typo, meaning “citrus”). The US National Institute for Health has an article about it:
The effect of Cistus incanus herbal tea supplementation on oxidative stress markers and lipid profile in healthy adults
I’m going to look into this. I have hypertension and if this can help reduce CVD naturally, I’ll take it!
What’s the best way to steep this cistus tea?
