I looked through the list of 247 LEDs.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit any of them.
The dimensions are:
1.9mm X 1.6mm (KR3703)
7.2mm X 3.5mm (KRO 405)
I’m looking for the type because then I can figure out what current limit to set.
If you’re trying to figure out how much current to set, you don’t necessarily need to know the exact LED.
If you can estimate the yellow area, the vast majority of LEDs can handle 1A/mm^2 easily, and generally can be driven much harder.
If you have a variable power supply, you can increase the current until the LED’s light goes from white to slightly bluish, and stop there. That’s the max current it can safely handle.
Maximum current is one thing but car headlights need to have a particular output and setting the current to maximum acceptable might change them from conventional headlights to blind-everyone-and-get-a-ticket set of lumen cannons ![]()
That is an important consideration. I just wanted to propose a method to find out what the max tolerable current of the LED is; the decision of whether to push the LED to that current rests entirely with the OP.
I guess also depends on whether it’s physically possible to access the LED drivers which are no doubt buried somewhere within that headlamp assembly, and then successfully modify them.
Given the second one has a cooling fan, I’d be surprised if there is much “low-hanging fruit” to be had, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong…

I guess OEM manufacturers don’t over-power the LEDs.
So I’ll settle for the factory values.
