What knife do you use to open packages

Whatever blade I'm packing at the time. Lately it's my Ganzo G707. It's stiletto blade slips right into the envelope flaps.

That little green SRM Tanto that sits on my nightstand… unless I whip out whatever is on me as soon as I pick up the box. Then chances are good its my Spyderco Stretch (simply no better EDC for me).

Usually keys or a butter knife or a screw driver or I just rip them open.

Nothing special.

Kershaw Burst; Leatherman Squirt; screwdriver

I use the screwdriver. The Kershaw is just too sharp and I’m afraid of slicing myself. The Squirt has always been a great tool.

Single edge razor blades. Box cutters are for scaredy cat mommas boys. :wink: I have dozens of razor blades scattered around the house… now, if I can only find them.

And I REALLY hate people that pack things in the form of the “bubble wrap football”. Bubble wrap covered in a mile of packing tape… it just invites unpacking damage.

I use one of those cheap plastic box cutters with the snap-off blades . I like the idea that I can adjust the length of the blade so that I can finesse the job . And when the edge dulls , just snap off the dull section and BLAM , back at it .

And they're budget .

Welcome to BLF, nqcken. My wife always keeps her rainbow Leek in her purse; safely ensconced in a knife taco. That may be of the most beautiful knives, aesthetically speaking, that we own.

thanks for the warm welcome! the rainbow leek is really a different animal than the rest of the leeks (i own several), the coating on them has an incredible hand feel and the operation is smooth as silk. it also looks , well, pretty and where i work i can not carry anything that could be construed as a “weapon.”

The Wharncliffe blade is my fave for dispatching packages. The current EDC is a Cold Steel Tuff-Lite (not the mini.)
