What to drop in this Z1

So i just happened to be in the right place at the right time (aliexpress) and jax had a Host version Z1 listed

Despite already having one with a white flat and good driver i was powerless to stop myself buying it

The question now is… what to put in it

Xhp35 hi, Sst40 , Sbt70

Opinions , alternative suggestions ?

Didn’t Nichia just introduce a color mixing LED? Think of the challenge! Doing crazy things for no good reason has a long tradition in modding You’d have packaging problems, driver problems, work with a rare and probably expensive LED, to have a light of dubious usefulness (a zoomable light with selectable color?).

Or a SBT 70 in rgb. Throw the rainbow!

indeed, just for fun

would be fun to have a custom MCPCB with multiple emitters in a zoomie, since a zoomie blocks all side light, wouldnt the output still be a nice and parallel beam?
Or am i completely wrong?

Sadly yes all side light is wasted unless you are lucky enough to get your hands on one of those Unobtanium collars

We should start the rumor that coloring the edges of the dome with a silver sharpie has the same effect. Is anyone old enough to remember when (some) folks thought that coloring the edges of a compact disk improved the sound (or at least reduced the bit errors)?

Go to some place where you can get one or a few crafted for a fair amount of money, and submit an order (Enderman must have 3D models for the small collar series he ordered months ago); just don't mention patents, their cursed name and related bullshite, for those who matter don't care (light recycling collars have been public domain since God existed, and pssst it is my will :-D for it to continue being so). If you need to sell the rest pretty sure lads and lasses around here will take 'em. :-)

Any links for shops where you can get light recycling collars? Do they all have a MOQ?
