What to expect from 11.11. sales?

Hi, as i joined BLF only this year, can you older members let me know what to expect from the upcoming 11.11. sales? I have somewhat high hopes, looking for good deals on more expensive, large flashlights. What were the previous years deals like? Were there any solid deals on expensive brands like Acebeam or Thrunite?

2 weeks ago was the Brands Week, now the 11.11. But the process is the same, most of the time :money_mouth_face:

Best thing is to spot a good sale price now and hope it's better on 11:11 but most of the time it's just another marketing ploy.

You need to do your homework and know the prices. Some so called deals are indeed no good deals, but some are. Last year I scored a $10 TIP CRI and a $4 Tube.

It’s called singles day where people celebrate being single. So you buy stuff for yourself. Of course it’s an attempt to boost the economy a bit as well. Interestingly, last year some stores in my country (The Netherlands) also had singles day sales (same day), and was even mentioned on the news about this day.

Same story every year, Its better to buy when they dont have some special “party discount”, if you just contact seller and ask for a discount you have a better chance to get one.
But 30-50% noooooo, especially for Acebeam.

Here’s what I found on a news site:

Shoppers have spent more than $25bn (168.2bn yuan) during China’s annual Singles Day, smashing previous records for the world’s largest retail event.

Single’s Day, promoted annually by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba and held on 11 November, was supposedly started by bachelor university students in the 1990s who bought themselves presents as a kind of anti-Valentine’s day. The date 11/11 was chosen for its collection of lonely ones.

Companies offer deep discounts for a range of products sold during the 24-hour period. But some deals have limits, such as the first 33 customers who had the chance to purchase a lifetime supply of the Chinese spirit baijiu for just 1,111 yuan (£1,275).

The retail event is now nearly four times larger than Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the two biggest shopping days in the US. This year saw customers spend about 40% more on Alibaba than last year, and 2016’s sales figure was reached in just 13 hours with $1bn spent in the first two minutes after midnight.

Other e-commerce companies also cut prices, but the event is closely associated with Alibaba.
