I had a chance to work on an Elektrolumens light once, and I have a drop-in triple puck from him for a D Maglite. The light I worked on was machined ruggedly tough, the proverbial tank, but his electronics were ultra conservative to the point of having way way long small gauge wires to limit current. He had larger wires to one switch for high, long small wires to another switch for low. It was a mess inside there and the owner really despised the light for it’s low output vs high cost. I returned it to him pulling 21A and making serious lumens.

Edit: It was the Search and Rescue Bruiser with SST-90 I worked on for my friend. And I had bought a few of those “Moli” cells from Wayne (still have them, in fact, unused in the cell overage case) but never found them all that impressive. Mind you, the target is different. Some people (like Wayne) want long run time. I want output, sheer unadulterated output, run time I can manage with more cells.
