What's The Answer To My Late Night Spill??

Okay, I already know the answer to my question. It's not a trick question either. Let's see who's the real McGywer!

So let's say you're walking a trail at night and all you got is an EDC flashlight. Then all of a sudden you drop your small pouch containing keys, a small knife, Tic Tacs, etc. You will need 2 hands free because everything spilled out and it's all over the dark ground. Without any aids but only your two hands, how would you position the flashlight so your 2 hands are free and also be able to see a good area around your spill?

Hold your flashlight with your mouth?

Very carefully

So far the answers are close…but no cigar yet. :innocent:

Hold the flashlight with your chin.

Sorry, that’s not it either. The mouth way would be inviting bacteria and the chin way would hamper head movements. That’s gonna give the wolverines, bears etc ample time to have you for dinner. :open_mouth:

There are many possible answers, use the clip or necklace and hang it form your shirt/neck, point it at a tree tailstanding becasue if its bright enough it will reflect and light up the ground, have your buddy hold it for you, use the second light you likely carry in your pocket, wait till ET visits with his bright spotlight from the sky, use a giant magnet or metal detector, come back the next day in daylight, use infrared goggles, hang the light from a tree, the possibilities go on.
My most used light is my Moon RC2, it clips to my shirt and is flood so would do the job and has many times.

Assuming ya have a shirt on, pocket clip it around the collar so it’s pointing downward and forward.

The real question is, “Why wasn’t your pouch properly closed?” :stuck_out_tongue:

How about cigar grip between pinky and ring finger, leaving the thumb and other two fingers free to work?

Sorry, I should of been more clear in my post but no clips or lanyard either. Basically just a flashlight with no lanyard or clip.

So far no one has got the answer yet. :smiling_imp:

Basically it’s just you, the spill and the flashlight. No trees or wire or twigs or coat hanger etc.

Tuck the flashlight between your shoelaces?

Or behind your ear? I’ve done that with an AAA-powered light before.

You win the internet

Leave the flashlight in your pocket and use your dog to help you find the missing items.

Between your neck/head and your shoulder, but that would also hamper head movements.

Sounds like those Anderson questions (“stick the elephant in the fridge, close the door”, etc.).

If a smooth trail, lay down the light and look for the long shadows being cast.

Okay okay, I’ll give the answer sometime this Wed evening. Will give some time for it to be figured out  I hope no one loses sleep over this.

I remember the one that your in a room and a fire breaks out, you have a paper clip and a pencil, how do escape the fire.
