What's your average speed in riding?

I have become a riding lover from the year of 2009. Everything changes better when I was seriously ill in 2009. I realized that I need sports. Riding seems a very good method to make me more healthy and sunshine.

I have made a long ride of 412km a day last summer from my county to the other county. It has made me exhausted completely, but sooner a totally relax of both my body and heart.

My formal average riding speed is among 35km-50km an hour. While I need climbing, the speed would be 18-21km. I am not sure if this speed is suitable and correct in riding.
Please let me know the formal average riding speeding. Please just share it here.

I ride everyday too. I ride only about 60km per day to and from uni and work.

My average speed is around 80km/h but on a good day I cruise at around 120.

Some people call what I ride the train.

did i miss something?

As Black Sabbath sang, I am ironman. The only thing you may off missed was a fast ride.

yes, you got vigorous opposition, at least for the bicycling part!

I'm so slow I called my riding speed "delivering papers "...

15 ~16mph avg.

I could run about 22 for a mile or so but after to much of that it's all crash and burn ... Slow but it's on a 20$ bike

 you are really riding a train. lol……
I cannot image how fast that will be on speed of 80km/h-120km/h. How to control?

you have missed the joys of riding. It is wonderful.

Riding just let you forget everything, and overcome everyone of peak speed.

30-35 km/h here (around 20 mph) because roads are utter crap for bikers.

A low speed has just made me feel unsafe and unstable while riding. I am quite enjoying the joys of fast speed riding.

30-35 km/h speed is fine. It allows you to enjoy everything around you while riding a bike.

What are you guys riding btw?
I don’t understand how anything higher than 30-35 km/h would be possible (sustained) on what I ride (hardtail MTB), unless my speedo’s off…

Strong wind you get feel if you have an extremely high speed. I only make a high speed while climbing down the road. I am feeling afraid of high speed riding.

This. Unless there is a strong wind to your back or you’re going down hill, (but then that wouldn’t be average speed) I don’t see how it’s possible.

I had a light bike a while back, now at 60 I had to swap for a sturdier frame & off road duty.

I’m Lost in Translation here!

Are we talking about Motorcycles or things like Mountain Bikes, road bikes?

At those speeds, a bicycle is most likely.

Approximately 18kmph. Kinda slow… but enjoy thr journey…

I’d imagine it’s possible on a road bike. I ride a rather beaten up 2007 Giant TCR-A1, and I can sustain a bit over 20mph for short distances if I’m pushing myself (I’m about as fit as an old sock :weary:).

Mountain BIKE riding.
