I bought one from FT and it has the OP reflector and I was able to separate the head to get to the emitter if that is important to you. I haven’t tried tearing it apart any further. I am pretty sure the reflector is metal also. I really like mine though and it is now my EDC light.
I don’t do any mods and have bought the same from FT in the past, but had forgotten where I did get them. The FT price is $13.26 ea. I have three, but expect to gift them before Christmas. I gave one to my DR. today.
I had planned to get 2 or 3 Thruite Ti lights with the 3/60 modes, but the prices are higher than they were a few months ago. One advantage of the Ti is the simplicity for one who just wants an on/off light and does not want to be bothered with three modes. I did not find the bundles at a reasonable price.

OP reflector? Interesting. How is the beam?
Was there any glue on the threads at all? Perhaps you just lucked out with one that was light on glue.
Mod-ability is big for me.
Yep, OP reflector. I think the beam is good, but I still don’t know a lot about the differences. I took a pic with my phone and set the ISO to 100 and the exposure to –2. I was holding the light about 3 feet away from the wall too and that is on high with a regular old alkaline AAA. It didn’t seem like there was any glue on it at all.

Do they all come with OP reflector? My sample has OP reflector. Already I am thinking I need to change the driver. I hate next-mode memory.

They use to use a smooth reflector. Some received ones with the led off center & a poor beam. With glued threads you can’t even fix it. Actually very early ones didn’t have glue. Mine from Jan 2012 was glue free, smooth reflector.
I’m pretty sure mine doesn’t have next mode memory. If I leave it on for a few seconds and then turn it off, next time I turn it on it is in the same level I turned it off. I bought mine from FT about a month ago. The pic showed a SMO reflector, but mine came with an OP so I am wondering if this is how the new ones are coming now.
Mine definitely has next mode memory. :Sp I will try heating it after I write the review. Serial begins 30909, maybe this is a newer version? There is also a spring in the tailcap rather than head. Not sure if this is typical either. I am still waiting for some unprotected 10440 to test.
My serial begins with 30309 so I guess yours is newer. Mine also has a spring in the tail. I think this is the way they come.
Will do. PCB says Tank007 too. It doesn’t have a spring in the head though.
