Anyone can give me some advice? what is the best store to order from, which won’t send me XM-L2 T6 instead of real L2 U2? i’m from EU, please advice for shops with free or low shipping costs, i don’t plan to pay 25$ for shipping, when the led it self is 5-6$, thanks.
Thank you alot! possible to get them without pcb?(bare emmiter) or de-solder-unglue the led itself? i will put it on TK61 copper pcb, i dont need the star, if its possible to remove the led and put it on the fenix copper pcb it will be ok as well.
I don’t mod so I can’t answer that question. Better send Hank (of that store) a message. Maybe qualified members here can answer that too….
Check the BLF LED database:
Thank you guys. So can bare led be de-soldered or de-glued from the noctigon pcb?
Also U2 1A vs U2 1B vs U2 1C best tint? i look for cool white, but not 7500K, around 6000-6500K, are int outdoor precise with their led bins claims?
Yep, no problem at all.
Soldering and desoldering will be done almost the same way…
Desoldering:
For soldering you have several ways to do that:
- Oven - couldn’t find a video for this one
- Frying pan (or so…): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT8H7Wy0qlY
- Heat gun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rNm8lN5YWU
- Soldering iron: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZN5sIjsTNM
All of these using the same “technique” of heating the star till the solder paste melts and the led sets down to the connections.
There are a lot of posts here on how to reflow, the led.
Some say that the safest way to the LED is using an oven, because of the low humidity in the oven.
I personally use a frying pan on a very very low fire.
If you have (or have access to using) a heat gun, you can use that to heat up and then just remove the emitter and reflow the new on onto the star. At least for me, usually when you remove the emitter, enough of the solder is left on the pads on the star so all you need to do is put the new emitter onto the pads, and use the heat gun to heat it up again.
Thank you, fortunately they sell bare leds, and de soldering or anything would not be needed. Thanks to all who helped. How are their shipping times? (Int outdoor)
Not sure about their shipping times.
But for your other questions
Please take a look at ANSI WHITE document, I think it’ll help you:
