Where to get 3.0v Li-ion from 16340?

I’m sure I’ve seen these, but can’t find them now. A regular 4.2v Li-ion 16340, but with a buck circuit built in to reduce voltage down to 3.0v for use in items that only support a single CR123a.

e.g. an alternative to using a 3.0v LiFePo4 16340.

They are still around I think. Google something like “Soshine RCR123”, some of them are labeled 3.0v.

HKJ did a test of this Soshine. Read his remarks careful!

Don’t know about rechargeables- but I like the
Titanium Innovations 3 V lithium primaries

I just use LiFePo4 16340s. The capacity isn’t as good as your more standard lithium ion cells but they do the job.

Possibly the tenergy 3.0v cells?

I have some of these now. But they are rather rubbish. Very short runtimes sadly. I wouldn’t object to a quality LifePo4 if I could find some.

I’d agree about sourcing good LifePo4 cells being a problem. I have both good and bad LiFePO4 cells, e.g. the A123 18650s for example are good cells, On the other hand my LiFePO4 cells are an unknown quantity and are used where I can’t / don’t want to use 18650s. If I want good cells I use my 18650s and if I want something more compact I’ll compromise on battery life and use 16340s or AAs.
