Where to get a new HD2010 Reflector?

So, I am a dumbass and didn’t realize how fragile a reflector is, I tried cleaning the one to my HD2010 some and removed some of the finish :frowning: Does anyone know where to get a new one that’s compatible?

Dimensions from the review are ~57.8mm outer diameter, ~52mm inner diameter and ~38mm depth. Currently the flashlight doesn’t seem to be affected too terribly, but would like a new one to fix it.

How about this one? http://www.fancyflashlights.com/goods.php?id=76

Anyone know if that’s 52mm inner or outer diameter?

Sorry for all the posts, just pissed that I did this, want to kick myself. Hoping someone has bought one before or has one to sell.

Bump, really want to fix it, lol.

Yea, I’m prone to fits of dumbassery :frowning:

“… removed some of the finish …”

:expressionless: Dafuq? When I tried to clean/remove some dust specks from my P60 reflector I scratched it (yup, even with special cloth :open_mouth: ). So I can say that reflectors scratches veeeery easily, but remove some of the finish?! :expressionless: Can you post a pic, please? Just curious. Thanks.

I can attempt, but I can’t guarantee anything with my limited camera skills, lol. I won’t be able to get the pic up until ~1 AM EDT though.

Checking in.

So that’s what to call it.

LOL ! I did exactly that to a C8 reflector. !!

HMM , There’s a smudge on it , :expressionless: I’ll just clean it off !!

wipe-wipe-wipe… OOPS !!! That can’t be good… :expressionless:

Like you said, it hasn’t effected the beam quality. :~
But I know it’s there and that irritates me.

Hehe  But that’s just a scratched reflector to me

Thats rather easy. Have an old unusable reflector lying around? Throw it into the good, poisonous stuff you use to clean brushes, paint, glue.. like acetone, terpentine, nitro. Some will make the coating disappear.. and some may even dissolve the reflector if made out of certain plastic. Been there, done that. :D

Clarification: Back then, it seemed like a good idea to get rid of some dirt on the reflector by using something that vaporizes without remains.. alcohol worked after I ruined the first one. :D

Been there too. Anyone know where to get a 34mm MTE reflector? I’ve found that shampoo, warm water and gentle rubbing under water with my finger then drying with a hairdryer works fairly well. Soap, rubbing alcohol etc. all leave residue. Its a bad feeling to mess up a new light — ask me how I know

Plastic only 0:) Will need to try that with some old alu stuff :stuck_out_tongue: to see what happen  Back to reality: who clean reflectors with those “liquids”? :open_mouth:

All I was using was rubbing alcohol and it did it.

Any cloth/rubbing can do it. It depends heavily on how good the reflective layer is bonded to the underlying material be it plastic or metal.
I´ve scratched a few and then I have a few that I think I can clean with a dirty cotton t-shirt because they are tough. One of those is plastic btw in case you are wondering.
I cant for the life of me remember what the process is called right now, something that happens in vacuum but nevermind. To make a long story short I use w´very warm soap water and then I touch it as little as possible and only with my fingers. Then flush under warm boiled water (boil it to remove calcium which we have in out tap water here, then let it cool down some before using).
I really hate cleaning reflectors btw. Due to my failures in the past I guess. So count me in as a member of the club of, what was that again?, flashaholics prone to lapses of dumbassery LOL!

CVD - chemical vapor deposition. Also how LEDs are made, MOCVD.

scr#@%&-up a reflector or two in our day, welcome to the club. i have also looked for replacements now and then, and they are not easy to find. there is a thread on that other forum, written by vinhnguyen54, that suggests a couple good ways to clean a reflector. also, if you scratched/scraped it too badly, you could always make an op reflector out of it. someone on this forum, i’m pretty sure it was don, talks about the hairspray trick. it basically amounts to spraying hairspray in the air and passing the reflector through the mist, and it works. you won’t have smooth anymore, it will be a light orange peel, but it will be a more consistent beam pattern. if you do happen to find a suitable replacement reflector, please let us know.

I can really recommend easylightbuy.com. I got an UF2010 from them a while ago with some smaller blemishes on the reflector. I contacted them and they sent me a new reflector. If you contact them they will hopefully help you as well. Very fast deliverys also. ( Good luck

Bump for the search of an HD2010 replacement reflector!

I too went through the rub-rub-rub-WTF phase and have scratched it up. Under the coating seems like brass, and it’s very rough and dull so it won’t function as a reflector at all.

So did we ever locate replacement reflectors for the HD2010. Someone machined the bottom of mine and accidentally wrinkled the finish
