Have to build a noiseless flashlight and have trouble findaing a noiseless switch. Mouse tail isn't an option. Any suggestions?
How durable and reliable does it have to be?
Simplest way would be a wire wrapped round the tail threads and looped across the end of the light. Hold the wire in place with duct tape. Press on the wire to get light. Most momentary switches (Only work when you hold them down) are silent. All twisties are silent. The Ultrafire WF-500 has a momentary switch that you can screw down for constant light. Surefire sell several such switches. My Solarforce forward clicky (S6 I think) certainly doesn't make any sound I can hear when right beside my ear - but I do have rather loud tinnitus so it might make a faint noise, I am unable to tell.

Very. also waterproof. Digital switches come to mind as you have on your 18650 angle ultrafire, but the ramping is unnecessary (probably defined by driver and not crammed into the whole switch assembly).
Is this to be fitted to an existing light, or is it specifying one from scratch?
It usually is quite easy to swap standard sized switches, you can get them in various sizes from DX. I can't find mine just now or I'd check them for noise.
It would be probably fitted to various P60 host. All mine have pratically the same switch. Hunters requirement... :/
Asked me for a solution and i told them i'll have a try. The tailmouse is unfortunately a non solution because they can't have flashlights weapon mounted. It is forbidden in our country. They lose the license if caught.
All stock ones looked like these:
They say they are way too loud... :(
Just to clarify: by "mouse tail" you mean a pressure switch, like you'd mount on a rifle light (like this one), correct?
If reliability is concern, I'd stay away from digital switches, by the way. I am generally the first to embrace "new" technology but it's my experience that anything that adds complexity and makes it hard or impossible to fix things in the field will come back to bite you in the butt. Sure, you can always go the "paperclip and duct tape" route but when reliability matters, I recommend KISS - based on personal experience.
For a first attempt you could try taking the switch assembly with BluTak or similar to see if that will deaden the noise enough. Or wrap the tailcap with sticking plaster (lepilnih obližev according to Google Translate). Elastoplast is the commonest brand here.
I have this Solarforce switch (S3 not S6 as I said earlier)
and if it does click, I can't hear it.
I wonder why weapon-mounted lights are banned.
The standard SureFire tactical switch is a push to switch on, twist to lock on which will be silent. I think it is the Z42. But it is also around $40 for which i expect two complete lights, not a switch!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll try to fix one. Thanks for the added effort for translation. :) No need to bother in the future as i'm gratefull for the prompt help and there is absolutely no need to serve me all on a silver plate. :) You sir, are most kind.
Blue-tak? I think i used it once to fix speakers on a stand to prevent them to move easily. Non staining non-hard sticking malleable stuff right?
Sticking plaster? Isn't that adhesive tape electricians use for less than spectacular way of improvising some insulation?

It has to do with not being fair to animals and give hunters the unfair advantage... or similar crap. They might change that in future im hearing lately. Wild boars are apparently hunted just at night or so i'm told. Never been a fan on the hunting circle but i respect those who do that to keep the balance in all that is left of nature around. Trigger happy safari sytle "hunters" i do despise wholeheartedly.
Double sided sharpened knives (daggers) are also forbidden. They (authorities) only tolerate scuba knives (of such type) if along with scuba equipment and must not be carried otherwise if not for diving purposes.
No, the stuff you stick over cuts and small wounds.
I could go on at great length as I spent today and will spend the next few days on a first aid course.
I googled and found those i admit. It was my lack in faith in google that made me think of that insulation tape.
Has anyone found noiseless switch?
twisty / electronic side switch .
Wow you really tried to raise the dead with this thread . Saw Budgeteers name and thought …“no way ”
I’m looking for classic switch not electtronic.
It could be faked. There are three-level momentaries, like the shutter switch on cameras, and I even heard some light uses one. You could software wire that to work like a clicky in principle. Would need two switch sense pins probably, but that's not a problem unless you demand every single other hardware driver feature like 2S, indicator LED, 3 channel and LVP all at once. You could use one of lexel's boards with indicator on pin 7 and wire the second level to the indicator pad. Then it's "just" a matter of writing software.
Come to think of it, a really cool thing about this is you could get the best of both forward and reverse clicky. You could program it to have momentary on from off and momentary off from on! The momentary on could bypass mode-change behavior and really just be a momentary on, while the momentary off would allow easy mode change as for reverse clicky.
