Where/when TK75 XM-L2??

I want a TK75. I don’t need it now and I’m willing wait for the XM-L2? Why aren’t these available? I don’t see anyone talking about this . . .

Oh, I want one too but I there isn't info on BLF.

Maybe you can dig around on CPF and find something?

Give it a month or two. Seems there’s some real good prices for the current TK75s, 158 shipped is hard to pass on so I don’t regret grabbing one myself
Besides, 7% average increase puts it at a little under 2800 lumens versus 2600; won’t be noticeable.

Same boat, saving the $ now and will buy when comes out with XML2

i was wondering the same thing: whether to take advantage of the $158 deal for the current tk75 or wait for the xm-l2 version. the new version would be a 7% increase in brightness? i thought it would be more.

Which dealer has that attractive pricing? Care to share? PM if info is sensitive. Thanks

about a week ago i asked fenix customer service this same question, and there response was “still waiting on a word back from the manufacturer.”

yes two bin difference more like 14% increase i think.

yeah, it’s closer to 3000 lumens.

Tempted to change the emitters. anyone tried taking the head apart?

The TN30 and TN31 (XM-L2 vs XM-L versions) are noticeably brighter.

I am confident there would a noticeable increase on the TK75 with XM-L2 emitters.

I doubt the TK75 will get xm-l2 upgrades, because it might out shine the new RC40!

Come to think of it Fenix hasn’t done emitter refreshes for their top-tier searchlights have they?
Chances are they could just be working on a brand new tk75 (tk80?) with updated xm-l2 U2 emitters.
My money is on the latter.

agreed…

I doubt it. The TK70 was their top dog for while . . . They just put a lot of R&D into the TK75 - there WILL be an emitter update.

I wanted a TK45 three years ago, kept waiting on an XM-L version, never happened.

Unfortunately it doesn't make sense for Fenix to release an updated version with just upgraded LEDs.

They didn't even release the new RC40 with XML2's, or even XMLU3....

With the XML2's they could have easily broken the 4000 lumen mark. Which means from production standpoint it probably makes more sense to them right now, to sell with older emitters.

When they are ready to move forward, tt would make a lot more sense for them to release an altogether new, but very similar light.

(Hope I'm wrong about this.)

XML2’s put out over 1000 lumen each now?

Is there a chart somewhere showing different emitters and their output at different currents anywhere?

My understanding is, it's about a 7% jump from U2 to u3 and about as much in the jump from XML to XML2. Thrunite claims to have some crazy numbers... 1376 lumens with the tn31 for example.

Few posts up

Looking at the tables on the wiki, you could deduce that they could hit 2984 lumens for a TK75 give or take a few.

1119/975*2600 = 2984

Can someone clarify what other differences xm-l2 emitters have over xm-l ones? There was something about xm-l2 emitters maintaining higher outputs for a given current at higher junction temperatures compared to xm-1s.
Also heard that the tint isn’t as nice for xm-l2; someone needs to do some controlled beamshots of the two in a few different reflectors

Thanks Leon, I put a similar link in my sig for future reference
