“It’s on the same level as if they took a character from a random kids show and made it evil.
Sir Topham Hatt from Thomas the tank engine! Perfect example.”
but…The Fat Controller and the Thin Controller and the Small Controller (Hatt, Percival, and Duncan) WERE Evil.
This movie is good.
It’s not as good as part 2, but it’s better than part 1.
The acting is average for a horror film.
The music is pretty good, but forgettable.
There’s very little plot, and the pacing is terrible.
Parts of the movie are kinda boring.
I like that the movie doesn’t take place near Halloween (for a change), and I like that the visuals are improved, but T2 is the superior movie in this series.
Looks like we’re probably going to be seeing Red One in the theater with friends. Also The Best Christmas Pageant Ever . No idea if the movie is any good. We’ve been reading the book at Xmas as a group during Xmas parties, taking turns, as sort of a tradition for probably over 30 years now. I highly recommend it for all ages/families.
This movie is between okay and bad.
The acting is good, and the music is great overall.
Most of the movie is way too slow.
There’s about half an hour of entertainment in a two hour movie.
There isn’t much of a plot, and the ending is extremely weak.
I admit that the movie is creepy, but it’s also pretty boring.

This movie is great.
The acting is top-notch.
The music is very good.
The movie starts out as a drama, then it becomes a creepy drama.
After a bit over an hour, the movie turns more and more into a horror film.
The first hour is kinda slow, but the character development is strong.
If you can handle a slow beginning, this movie delivers.
I especially liked the very end.
It was quite cathartic.
Classic Russian WW2 movie in the Liberation Series, Film 1 (of 5): The Fire Bulge. Free on You Tube. Historically accurate rendtion of what is widly seen as the largest tank battle ever fought. The battle of Kursk, Germans and Russians. Same area is hot these days. I enjoyed it, given no special effect and dated appearance. (filmed in the late 60’s) Price is right.
This 2022 movie is the original, with the 2024 movie being the remake.
This 2022 movie is okay.
The movie is about 60% in English.
The acting is good.
The music is just okay.
The remake has much better acting and much better music.
The remake is a bit slower (except for the third act), but it’s also a lot creepier.
The remake has a lot more action late in the movie than the original.
The ending of the original is not that impressive.
I say skip the original, and just watch the remake.
Caught The Terrorists (1974) with Sean Connery and Ian McShane. At first, I was gonna skip it because it didn’t seem all that interesting in the “preamble” part of the movie, but in minutes I was hooked.
A few Bad People hijack a plane and some more Bad People hold hostage an ambassador and his staff. They’re working together, and the idea is to spirit off the ambassador to the plane and fly off to their escape. Of course, things go awry, and it’s Sean against Ian, while Sean tries to figure out the subtle irregularities he’s encountering along the way.
The film itself is pretty economic, things move along quickly with zero “fluff”, but the end seemed a bit rushed. Granted, I was a bit distracted throughout (feeding time at the zoo, y’know), but I might have to rewatch at least the end to let everything soak in. Different players had different agendas, and it got a bit confusing as All Was Revealed in just a few brief minutes.
Hey, if I had to watch “Ronin” a bunch of times to figure out wtf was going on, I could at least watch “The Terrorists” one more time.
The original is significantly better. I did enjoy this film but I think the main issue with it is that it’s doing too much and it doesn’t feel especially cohesive to me. It’s 2.5 hrs of stuff happening.
Paul Mescal is completely overshadowed by almost everyone else in the film. I think his casting was a mistake, and the screenplay treats him like a side character much of the time. Pedro Pascal is just better in every way and probably should have led this movie.
The colors in this movie are often muted. Some scenes are a little better but overall it reminds me of early 2000s video games. Weird, since I haven’t gotten that feeling from any of Ridley’s other films. Maybe it was to hide some deficiency like lower quality sets or bad CGI.
One thing that I don’t see others mentioning: Both Gladiator films start out with a battle. The one in Gladiator 2 is pathetic in my opinion. It’s like when they planned out the battle they really didn’t want to make it. What you watch is like visual shorthand for a battle rather than an actual battle. It’s just not good.
Is it silly? Absolutely. But it is also a lot of fun if you are in the right mood. I am glad I picked it up from that random Walmart discount bin a few yrs back
This movie is okay.
I saw the unrated version.
Overall, I’d say that the movie is a good idea, but with mediocre execution.
The acting is about average.
The music is good.
Parts of the film are entertaining, but much of the movie is lukewarm.
Sometimes the title character looks very realistic, but the character M3GAN usually looks somewhat low budget (technology-wise.)
This is to be expected with a film budget of only twelve million dollars.
If any sequels are made, hopefully the filmmakers can make badly needed improvements to create a more entertaining movie.
