Saw Fountain of Youth (2025)
I had high hopes for this because of the cast (Krasinski, Portman) and Director (Ritchie), but, well, nope.
I basically feel like this tried for a “Mummy” (the first one) vibe/success and ended up somewhere around the 3rd/4th one…
This movie was just released.
It has a pretty high average rating on IMDb (that’s bound to decrease a bit over time.)
Heretic
Premise was good, Hugh Grant was superb, bit of decent theology thrown in. Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East played the Sisters well too.
Lost its way, like the writer didn’t have an ending planned for the great idea he’d created. It did what it was supposed to do, entertain, but it ran with a slow puncture though the last 1/3rd.
Theme music at the end is a dreamy and ethereal version of Knocking on Heavens Door sung by Sophie Thatcher, it’s good.
The Battle of Algiers.
- looks like a documentary, but it is not.
- sort of a propaganda piece in favor of Algiers.
- the best character is the French Colonel (Jean Martin).
I saw Predator: Killer of Killers (2025).

This movie is incredible.
My favorite Predator movie was The Predator (2018), but now it’s Predator: Killer of Killers (2025).
This is an animated movie.
The animation is amazing, but it’s only 12 frames per second, so it’s kinda choppy.
IMDb does not consider this movie to have horror elements, but anything in the Predator universe is inherently horror.
The movie has a bit of Old Norse, Japanese, and Spanish, though the majority is in English.
The voice acting is excellent, though there are not a whole lot of dialogue lines in English.
The music is so good it should win some awards.
The quality of the music reminds me of John Williams’ music.
The violence is over the top, but there is a coherent plot.
The movie kinda ends abruptly, perhaps setting up a possible sequel.
I thought this movie would be pretty good, but I didn’t think it would be this incredible.
The Accountant 2.
Much less compelling than the first. It’s an average action movie that’s OK to see once, but I would never buy it to add to my 4K collection like the original. The writing is remarkably paint-by-numbers this time around.
I did find it hilarious that they made up a condition called Acquired Savant Syndrome…or, for short, ASS. Why is that person so smart now? ASS. It’s because of the ASS.

Has anyone seen this movie? I got 30min in and gave up. Went to watch something else. I have the feeling that I was just in the wrong mood though.
I liked both Accountant movies enough to rewatch some day but not enough to buy them. I was kinda impressed that 2 was as good as it was, I thought it’d be worse. Ben Affleck looks way older in certain scenes though. Did you notice this? It’s like the makeup person took a few random days off and they kept filming anyway.
There was a pretty big gap between the movies, so I guess they did what they could with Ben.
I forgot to mention that I was fairly disappointed that they didn’t bring Anna Kendrick back. Their dynamic was effective in the first movie. I know that they were focusing on the brother-brother relationship instead, but I didn’t care about it. Maybe you have to have a brother to really get it (I’m an only child.)

Yea, 9 years! If they’d done it sooner I bet it would have made more money.
I have brothers and I thought the brother relationship in the movie was fine, obviously they are not normal brothers though.
I agree that Anna Kendrick was missed. It seems like they were setting up a new romance with the whole speed dating bit, but then they just dropped it.
You ever see Mr. Right? Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell are a fun pairing in that.

Random british guy gets superpowers, and continues to struggle with everyday issues like being assertive with his boss, being awkward with ladies, and generally not being sure what to do. A good time 
I put off watching this one for years. It’s better than I thought it would be. Not great, but dumb fun. Also, Summer Glau is a smokeshow in this.
Summer Glau is/was in The Big Bang Theory playing herself.
The Big Bang theory irks me somewhat though. I feel it is a show meant to make fun of geeks rather than be a show for them. It is not very authentic either. Does anyone believe that Sheldon would buy an Alienware when he could build his own machine and micromanage every aspect of the build? CMON
I saw Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025).
This movie is okay.
I think it’s about as good as the original movie, which isn’t saying much.
Overall, the acting is not very good.
The music is excellent.
The violence is done quite well.
During most of the movie, I was just waiting for the next violent accident to happen, which are the best parts of the movie.
I wouldn’t recommend this film to anyone except for fans of the series.

i never “got” the Final Destination premise.
i would just fast-forward to the death scenes.

I saw A Real Pain (2024).
This movie is good.
It’s mostly a drama with a little bit of comedy mixed in.
The subject is controversial for some, but the filmmakers handled it well.
The acting is top-notch.
The music is excellent, but I like classical music (Chopin).
The movie is quite uneven.
Some parts are much better than others.
I laughed out loud a few times.
Overall, the film is moderately entertaining.
To sum up this movie, it’s basically Alien underwater instead of in space. It had the potentially to be a fun twist on the formula but I consider it a failure due to bad plotting. Things didn’t have to get out of hand, but they do because the characters consistently do the dumbest thing whenever an important decision comes up.
