Which MT-G2 light, Solarforce S2200 or Niwalker Black Light Vostro BK-FA02?

Kinda want to add a MT-G2 light to the collection, probably sell of my TN30 or TN31 to get it, probably the TN31 as I really have no use for a thrower, as fun as they may be. I am looking at the Niwalker and the Solarforce, they both seem a fair amount higher quality than the Crelant 7G10. I am leaning towards the Niwalker to be honest, but the price may preclude that, the Solarforce should be cheaper and if we can’t get any good buys in the Niwalker may be a good ~$40 cheaper. Has anyone played with both? Has anyone played with just one of them? Just looking for opinions here.

The Niwalker, which uses a 2S2P battery config, doesn’t have much voltage overhead with which the driver can regulate current; the light drops out of regulation fairly quickly if that matters to you. Selfbuilt details this in his review.

Ok, not a huge deal to me but something to consider for sure.

7G10 is 2S2P as well.

S2200 and SX25L3 (though that one's a little tube light with a small reflector) are the only ones I know of so far that got the battery config right.

Yea, not considering the Eagletac at all.

All my other lights are on the smallish side or downright tiny with mega output for their size. This one is huge, with mega output and a gorgeous tint. Love it! I’ll give it a very high recommendation rating on it’s build, the superb HAIII (which somehow feels almost silky) and the output/tint…no lottery there as it’s just simply right!

Big thumbs up to Solarforce on this one!

I know Solarforce has a strong following here, and rightfully so, so that is very high on the list. Just wondering if the Niwalker would be better.

Our Black Light series Vostro lights are scheduled to ship next Monday to dealers. We will update the final shipping version on our site very soon. For your reference

Cool but not sure it’ll beat the $138 price of the Solarforce.

We live out in the country, our driveway is a couple of hundred yards long. So, taking out the trash I elected to walk the rolling trash can down to the road and let my S2200 provide the illumination. Of course, I had to click it on hi now and then and see what was happening for the next 500-600 yds just cause

What an awesome light, great mix of hot spot and flood with that now-becoming-legendary beautiful tint. Some things are simply meant to be enjoyed, forget the comparisons.

The Niwalker throws further than the Solarforce IIRC.

Maybe for the first 15 minutes...

I guess it depends on his intended uses.

Flood is more important than throw.

Then solarforce for sure!

Sounds to me like they built the S2200 to your specifications Bose. Whatchawaitinfor?

To sell my TN31, lol. Want to buy it?

get the solarforce

the other ones are overpriced crap.

The 7G10 can be had at less 100

Has the regulation been fixed / improved from the sample Selfbuilt reviewed?
