A8 NW with 4 modes: firefly- low - mid - high please (hidden stobes ok)
Why not use this opportunity to try to get hidden strobe option? Get those programmers working. They already managed a 1kHz 2% (which is very good) on the Mini.
Who knows maybe it'll push the future mass production towards these types of modes. Wouldn't it be great? Strobe can be used when needed ONLY.
Poor 501B. No pity vote?
That's my first high powered light.
Easy option to “hide” additional modes would be:
- no memory
- H-M-L-H-M-L-Firefly-Strobe
I hear yah, but stobe should be instantly accessible but hidden. If not it’s a complete fail IMO.
The only time you’ll need it will be “right now!”. But you don’t want to see under normal use.
Not sure how a single button light can really make use of strobe, unless it’s a double click or a click and hold action.
I think 4 mode would be great, but I prefer another sequence: high - mid - low - fire fly with memory.
Why do many people do not want memory?
what would the run time of a 26650 at like 2-5 lumens be?
Actually, that would mean a NW 3 mode dropin with host for $15.50.
I wonder if its down to the poor ‘next mode’ memory that some budget lights suffer. Where in if you turn them back on within 10 mins of using it last it’ll change to the next mode.
These are really annoying and I can’t even follow the thought pattern or logic behind why such a setup was ever conceived let alone actually manufactured.
A proper memory mode is however quite handy such as how my Solarforce drop ins work.
Never thought of it that way. Now that you mention it... that's even cheaper then Manafont sku. 5720 alone (currently $15.98)!
Does he have any 504Bs? Maybe SS?

Why do many people do not want memory?
I don’t like it because I want to know in which mode the light will turn on, I’m never able to remember which mode I last used.
The ALMOST best UI I’ve seen in a flashlight is the one in my EagleTac T20C2.
4 mode
- Head tight = High mode
- Head loosened = medium
- Quick change high-medium-high = low mode
Why ALMOST you say? Strobe after High mode when head is tightened…
Other then that it’s a great way of always knowing which mode you get. Can we get this pretty please?
Best UI I’ve seen, used or even heard of is the Klrus NT series.
Dual button.
-tail button is forward clicky with momentary and does on/off. The great thing here is using momentary won’t cause it to change modes like most single button lights.
-side button changes modes within the current mode group (H-M-L) for the default. It has memory so will turn on in what ever you left it in. This is with the head tight
Head tight/lose. Head tight as above does H-M-L with memory. However head lose does Moonlight then some beacon modes, but it has no memory, so head lose will always turn on in moonlight. I love this as I tend to use High and if I should want moonlight I can loosen the head before turning it on.
-Strobe is hold the side button down for half a second constant to activate. And then a single click to turn off.
Things I love about this are:
-instant access to strobe but completely hidden
-you can preset if it’ll turn on in moonlight or not and know if it is without actually turning it on first
-you can use momentary without causing it to shift modes
what driver did you use in the last light? would you be able to just use a custom 105c driver so people could easily select their own modes after they get it? it would go from high to low, but i think almost everybody would be satisfied with the light, and wouldnt pass on a great custom blf light becasue it didnt have the modes they wanted. like this:
http://www.intl-outdoor.com/amc71358-5mode-circuit-board-nanjg-105c-p-216.html
it probably costs more, but I for one would be willing to pay more for a light with this in it, assuming Trustfire will allow it.
regardless if this driver is used or not, id be in for a few of the 501 or c8, as long as i like the modes in the final light. preferrably a c8. and NW as long as its not green. a u3 CW would be pretty cool too. a c8 nw T6 (not green) or CW u3 with a 105c selectable modes driven between 2.8a and 3.5a would probably be something everyone would order or enjoy.
I don’t get it what so fabulous is on the A8?
Just the longer runtime?
I voted for z8 because I definitely want a small light for every jacket…
But I would be in for the other too  you could always need another flashlight.
The best UI for me is the one in my photon freedom micro: click=on, another click=off, when off hold button for ramp up, when on hold button for ramping down, disco's are hidden. It would work for any forward clicky, it is ideal, I don't get it why so few flashlights use this simple, versatile and intuitive interface???
Can trustfire make this?

Basically. I thought the T2 with side switch might have broader appeal.
In any case, it would be nice to get working memory. Or even working reset. The Mini still had 10 sec to reset to low.
4 modes with firefly (100/25/2/0.1%) and 2Khz+ pwm would be great. 1K was still visible.
