I’m in the market for a Skyray King, but I have no idea which one to get. I have some Amazon credit, so it’d be nice if I could get one there, but it’s not essential. I’d also like one that’s not that gaudy gold color if possible, but again, it’s not essential. I don’t really care if it’s a fake, as long as the brightness level is the same and the quality doesn’t take a huge hit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

id suggest THIS although not a SRK it is a good alternative. it is a new light so you will get the higher quality first edition. the SRK has suffered from cheap parts as it got “older” so if you do want a SRK id suggest just finding the cheapest one and buy that search ebay and just find the cheapest one

If you want to mod, the one at Fancyflashlights may be the way to go. It has the latest LED's, so that saves you $15-20 in upgrade costs right there. I'd reflow them onto 20mm Noctigon's. It supposedly has the highest build quality. Texaspyro is developing a driver that does....everything....and is good reason to stick with a SRK instead of something similar.
You have stumbled upon one of the most debated flashlights in this forum. Another interesting option is the Skyray Kung… There a picture of it along side the king in my signature below…
i have the kung, not king, and i personally like it. its not a long use light at all since it heats up fast due to the 4 emitters so if you are looking for a long use light, the king or kung is not it

+1, The fancyflashlights.com, CNQG.com one is considered the best one available whether you mod or not but it costs more. The higher priced FandyFire from fasttech.com is also nice.
