Need recommendation on wire to buy from Radio Shack for building a flashlight, need it now, no time for shipping. thanks

I'd look for 20-22ga and high strand count. Silicone wire is probably too much to hope for.

The last time I was there I asked the kid working there if they had any 18650 size batteries. All I got was a blank look and he said what’s that?

You can get silicone wire at your local RC shop in several sizes.
