Who else is feeling my pain?

As it gets lighter and lighter outside and now that we have ‘sprung forward’ with daylight savings time, I am finding my light usage cut back by at least 50%. During the dark days of winter, daily close of business routines saw lights being used routinely to; scope the material yard, close the gates, check the warehouse, walk out to the car and then having driven back home in the dark; trip to the mailbox, opening door, walking dog, collecting firewood… my work bag always has at least 3-5 lights in it and my desk another 3-5 that I am ‘trying out’ for some reason or another.

Most of these little activities could have just as easily been accompanied by switching on of area lights, but what fun would that be?!

Did pretty much all those little routines this week, no lights needed! Not happy!

Who else’s lights are gathering (extra) dust the way mine are?*

*(of course its nice to go out and restock the woodstove or do some stargazing without having to dress up like an eskimo)

I totally hear you bro. Kind of going through withdrawal. Guess we should take as an opportunity to slow down the pace and increase the quality of our mods so that we are well armed for next winter’s darkness.

Yeah, that doesn’t work for me either.

I know, I know. Once summer gets here it will hardly even be dark before I have to go to bed for work.

to make it dark again. Might it can such up the light around us and charge the batteries instead of draining them.

I’m not to bad, dingy workshops will always be dingy so I get to use at least one light day to day. Not playing with my throwers when I take the bins out will be a bind though. :expressionless:

Same here, no dark is no good. The Aussies will be getting their turn soon though. Gotta think on the bright side

It sucks. I get off work at 7 and find the sun not even gone down. I was thinking that day before yesterday.

I live in a cave, so I get to use lights on a regular basis. Well, ok, not literally…my wife suffers migraines so I’ve put 5% Limo Tint on the windows and have room darkening mini blinds. Can’t read in our room without a light when it’s blue skies and intense sunshine just the other side of the window. :), and that’s with the blinds open!

Wife works late so I don’t go out with the trash and such til after dark, whether that’s 9 or 11 doesn’t matter to me. And of course, that means I get to exercise my toys lol

I wonder if I can convince mrs gords…

easy fix, volunteer for the graveyard shift. Plenty of darkness around midnight.

In fact, I am happy not to have to patrol a certain bunker four storeys deep anymore. All that concrete around you and the only lighting coming from the illuminated emergency exit signs - you wouldn’t have to wait until dusk to play with any torches.

I feel your pain, but I’m a semi-retired insomniac so night and day don’t have the same meaning for me as for others.
