Who makes the best CR2032 batteries?

Looking for a long lasting CR2032 battery that will last in a dive computer. They are a pain to change so I’d like something to last as long as possible!

I was thinking about getting some Panasonic CR2032 button cells that are made in Indonesia and expire in 2030.

For about the same price, I could get some Maxell CR2032 button cells that are made in Japan and expire in 2025.

Should I go with the ones that expire later, or the ones that are made in Japan?

Quality is important but freshness is more important. Panasonic may the the best but if its been sitting on the shelf for 10 years, its garbage.

Probably better off with Energizer since they do high volume and will more then likely be fresh.

The Panasonic's have a shelf life of 10 years, so if they expire in 2030, they're pretty fresh.

What is weird is that the Maxell's only have a shelf life of 5 years, and they're made in Japan.

For a bit more money, I found some CR2032 button cells made in Japan with a shelf life of 10 years, but they aren't that fresh.

I had good luck with some Sony branded batteries. The trouble with Amazon is the freshness thing (and fakes).
Ya never really know what you’re going to get.
Amazon has been putting out a lot of fake Sandisk SD cards in the “Fulfilled by Amazon” by seller ??? type of sales.
If it’s Amazon “actual” doing the selling, seems to be a better chance.
If you find some good ones, let us know. I need to replenish my stock too.

i have some Renata cells over 10 years old, they are still holding voltage and work fine.

Beside longevity, I think freshness is as much or more important.
I recommend that you order from a battery specialist, which has a high turnover, so likely send you batteries from a recent batch.

In you case, if it is difficult to repair, I would go for Lithium 2032 batteries. See Energiser. The price is not much more than alkaline, and the shelf life is 10 years.
