If you have, how’s the tint? As these are binned at 85ºC, the tint won’t be quite the same as the G1 3C.
I have one from them but have not lit it up yet
Correction I have 1C not 3C
I got 3 installed but got mine from Mouser (BLF mini, C8 pill, and XIAOHI) - looks real good to me, but I'm no tint/color expert.
got some on the way to go onto sinkpads. I won’t have a way to fire one up (except DD!) until a DrJones driver arrives, although I do have a couple of supposedly XM-L T6 3C lights to compare them to.
I also have a T5 3C coming from IS that’s going into a work/ emergency light, so that should be testable sooner (I’m on a crusade to banish CW LEDs from my life
I just ordered 4 of them earlier today. 3 to put in a modded King and the 4th to go in my CX 1D Mag. 8)
I got 5 today. Need to get some acetone and try to de-dome (which would make any tint opinion kind of invalid). Haven’t decided on the others…just seemed silly to order 1
I’ve purchased some. I installed an XML2 T6 3C 5000k neutral emitter into my 2103 edition D25c Titanium. The tint is quite nice.
I also installed a 5000k XPG2 also from Illumination Supply into my Olight S10. Comparing the two, the D25c has the superior tint. But I can’t tell if this is because the LED itself has a better tint, or simply because there’s less tint shift as the Olight S10 has a lower max power.
Sweet JM take some pice of the progress and how you get it all done up if you can. Just got a King and been thinking of something similar.
I’m looking for some xml2’s. Who’s IS?
Short for IlluminationSupply.com, run by user cssih/Craig. He basically runs an LED boutique: choice parts and great CS.
Let us know how you like ’em (with lots of pics)! I’m particularly interested in how 3C tint generally stacks up between the G1 and G2 XM-Ls.
Thanks Slim Pickens, I’ve come across his store before, just couldn’t remember the name.
I got my XM-L2 T6 emitters on 16mm stars from intl-outdoor, but havent used them yet. They sold out their entire limited stock almost right away. I wish they’d get some more. Email them if you need some and maybe they’ll restock.
WTF is that? They are not going to restock lol? Seriously? …
IS is a bit overpriced to be honest especially with the shipping. Nice selection of some things yes, but the price is set a notch higher to a “CPF level”.
Yes… SERIOUSLY! I never said they arent going to restock them. They simply dont have any at this time because they are hard to get. As I mentioned, the stock was limited and they sold out in less than a day. Nearly all (if not all) were bought out by BLF members - thanks to weiser alerting us right here on BLF… so the price was extremely attractive to the rest of BLF members at $8 delivered. On top of that, they are still the only shop that I am aware of to have stocked XM-L2 T6 already mounted on 16mm stars (outside of a cutter custom order = $$:money_mouth_face:. Feel free to purchase the bare emitter @$7.50 from IS if you consider that a better deal and reflow it to your own star/mount.
Weiser, if you’re reading… thanks again bro. … SERIOUSLY!
$6 at IS (bare, but I bought 22 xml sinkpads ![]()
Im looking forward to the 16mm sinkpads. ![]()

XM-L2 U2 C3 on left XM-L T6 on right

I don’t see a thing, no pictures.
Well Int-outdoor is quite a fail with the stock. Such a problem for them to order few more hundreds/thousands? of XM-L2s and offer them in lower quantities.
Week to get them shipped, a day to have them reflowed.
But I guess it’s more of an online shop then a supplier so they have to buy them already made somewhere… and that probably is not so easy as you say.
They are not so rare, we have them even here locally available on stars but they do cost almost like all other electronics two times more compared to US or Asia, $15 piece. * that.
To be exact: XMLBWT-00-0000-000LT60E4 on a 20mm aluminum star, $14.16 if you buy 3+
+$5 shipping in country, can’t tell if they would ship outside EU. PayPal accepted.
But, I just selected 3x XM-L2 T6 3C + 1x warm XP-G2 R5, free shipping XD
$53 yuck not. On stars. (And yes it is in stock.)
Now the same stuff Bare from IS and shipped over the pond:
$30.3 without stars.
Ok not 2 times more expensive over here just 1.75 times ![]()
And $30.3 is on the edge of getting caught by customs as that is 22.40 EUR and the limit is 22 EUR. Which would mean another expense with the post and customs + around $15. Still cheaper though.
So not worth it.
Anybody else found different sources of XM-L2s?
Apart from IO, IS, digikey, mouser, something accessible to poor EU citizens.
Have you tried any of the UK equivalents of Digikey/ Mouser? One of them changed their name to something goofy, like Element13 or something (Farnell?). If that doesn’t work then you’re SOL until the Chinese sites start offering them in quantity.
JackCY, are you in the UK? Please update your location. There was a recent post on BLF made by someone in the UK that wanted to organize a large order from cutter and resend items locally. Search and maybe its not to late to get in.
