Why do i need a DA1/K

I shouldn’t have to ask this. Im disappointed in myself. But iim struggling to find a good enough reason. So I’m seeking professional help.

I have a d4k (519a 4500k dd), d1k (sft70 3000k), couple different d3aa’s. Have old school d4sv2, dt8, d4v2 etc…

Dont really need a micro thrower. My T6 sft25r 5000k is pretyy darn amazing. Tbh.

Im think i meed a da1 or da1k in ntg50 4200k. Kinda between the two. But WHY do i need it? And which do i need! Da1… bit more pocket-able for when dw3aa ismt enough? Or da1k because why do 18650 when you can just do 21700?

I know you all gonna say both, but my wife didnt spend that much on clothes and handbags. So its not an option :squinting_face_with_tongue:

My powers of rationalisation may be fading. Or god forbid my collection is nearing completion. I refuse to admit that,

Which one, and why please.

Thanks for reading and enabling a fellow addict.

You don’t need one. It’s worse - YOU WANT ONE! At this point you don’t need to rationale just get it. You answered all important questions yourself - DA1K NTG50 4200K it is. Enjoy your new light.

3 Thanks

I’ve just gotten a DA1K. I’m used to carrying a D4K so the weight’s not a problem and because I went with the 3000K SFT-70 I’m taking a hit on efficiency so the bigger battery makes sense. Plus I already have Molicels to feed it.

I find the head of the D1K too large to comfortably pocket-carry and the D4K is too floody for outdoor use unless equipped with SFT-25s and then I lose the CRI. The DA1K SFT-70 is only slightly larger than a D4K but throws much better. Also the aux lights look beautiful under the new optic.

My sft70 d1k was a bit warmer than i was expecting. But im coming around. It had occured to me i could get the ntg50 4200k mcpcb for it and swap it. But that would defeat the purpose of a da1k now wouldn’t it

I love the rosy d4k. Its very useful around the barn and chi ken coop. The d1k is what i use to look over the paddocks. Both are too big for anything other than a jacket pocket. I belt clip them. The d3aa is perfect for pockets.

Ive found hugh cri is almost essential. Im in Australia, we get plenyy of snakes in our rural area. I cant afford to confuse a you will die noodle with a I’m harmless and eating your mice noodle. Dogshit test pass is great now i know i can. So my older lights dont get used much anymore.

Pity the da1k isnt available in cyan. Its the colour i am missing. Hence the da1 being in the hunt. Phantom is right tho. I know what i want. The da1k. Just need it cyan :upside_down_face:

Why?

Because.

And I have no idea what a DA1K even is.

5 Thanks

Its very simple why you need it. The day will come when it wont be available anymore and you will deeply regret not buying it.

It arrived. DA1K. NTG50 4200k. Gray. P50B inside. Stainless bling.
Gotta say this is even sweeter than i thought it would be.

The red d4k is a 519a 4500k DD. The tint is fantastic. But the tint on this 4200k ngt50 is superlative.

Nice

Are you sure one is enough?

1 Thank

I have found one is not enough.

You’re quite the mind reader. I have a d3aa 519a 2700k as a bedside light. Frequently in candle mode. Im thinking a da1k ntg 1800k would be better. It would give me a place to put and make the most my lonely vapcell F58.

What i really need is a da1k and da1 side by side pic

If getting another one causes unhappiness on the home front remember it was @zoulas who suggested buying another one.

inferred. Plausible deniability and all LOL

It definitely wasn’t me, I’m a victim of circumstance.

I’ve got a DK4 with quad NTG50s in 4200k on the way. Pretty excited. I ordered because the NTG35s in my other quad at 1800k are very orange/warm. Good for my nightstand but not general use for me.

1 Thank

You’ll love it. Colours seem the more vivid uncer it than any other emitter i have. Subjective of course. Almost perfectly neutral to my eye.

Can someone tell me the manufacturer of the NTG LED? Is it Noctigon?

1 Thank

Not sure the manufacturer has been mentioned. But its a custom led made to hanks specs. Hence the ntg.

Ok I am assuming only found in Emisar lights.
